Belgium's golden generation came and went. they're not getting anywhere near the final, even if they had Courtois. and Casteels is actually a decent goalkeeper so i don't think that's going to be their problem anyways. their defense is below average and Lukaku up front will surely go missing when they need him.
As a Belgian and football fan it s clearly that the ego of Courtois created this situation. If the Belgium fans are not making any noise about Courtois, the number 1 keeper of the world, not playing that tell s you everything you need to know.

Courtois left his team. Didn't want to fix things afterwards and announced himself months ago he wouldn't play the Euros. He might have been a great asset for Belgium but probably would have ruined the dressing room. Casteels will do a fine job, still without the Big Saves probably. We'll end in the quarter finals anyway

At the end of the day you have to respect the coaches and club’s decisions …the keeper should focus on goal keeping and thats it … no matter whoes the captain… if its one thing the keeper is ALWAYS allowed to do his captain his back 4 or back 3 infront of him…. Not saying belguim would win the euro if he was the goalkeeper but he definitely letting them down
