For a while now Piers’ putting has been letting him down. But the reason for this was always kind of unknown, it was difficult to pin point. So this week we bring Xander Schaufelle’s putting coach on the channel to give Piers a lesson and it is amazing how simple the fix was to help Piers become a much better putter.

  1. Great video guys 👏 this is like watching exactly how this lesson would be if I was having the lesson. Green reading for me is the hardest thing in golf 🤯🤦🏻‍♂️

  2. I’m a streaky putter, start with a straight putt surely, find out what your tending bias are if you have any any? It’s a feel thing anyway, dominant eye make a huge difference, inside edges of holes give clues as well, not impressed with this lesson

  3. In a feet reader. Since the 80s. I've always had an issue dealing with setup trust. At address the feet and ball are in a certain relationship. But that's the point where the ball travels fastest and break matters least. Reading the rest of the putt then trusting it ALL once at address again is tough…. imo.

  4. Fantastic putting lesson. Really enlightening. I truly appreciate having access to free, quality instruction like this. But! "Before my wife spends it all?" Women who come to this tutorial are going to turn it off at that point. Let's lose the machismo dude. Other than that, thanks.

  5. Wow, I'm delighted that someone reads putts exactly the same as me, I read greens completely wrong with my eyes and definitely drop 10-15 shots per round due to poor putting

  6. Putting is always a blind guess for me. I'll make maybe one in five from four to six feet. Maybe on in ten. Shot an 81 with 41 putts. The round included a chip in and two one putts. So 39 putts on 15 holes. 13 handicap averaging 38 putts. I gave up the game.

Took it up again recently. If anything, my putting is worse. I still hit about nine gir. After five or six three jacks, i quit keeping score.

  7. Halfway through the video and I have a similar issue specifically on left to right putts where I cannot see those breaks. Right to left putts I can see fine, but I misread so many left to right putts it's silly.

  8. At 1:18, what is the reason he's standing over his line? I'm seeing more players do this these days and I can't figure out why they're doing this. Is this some new teaching tool (aid)?

  9. I always use the heavy black line on the ball to set up my putt after I plumb bob the putt. Then when I stand over the putt I check to see that my eyeline agrees with the heavy ball line. I know that my eyes have to be about 3 inches inside the ball line and three inches in front of the ball. I have the S7K standup putter and when I help bad putters I use it to test and correct their eyeline setups. The worst advice is to have your eyes directly over the ball. It only works if your head position and eyesight are perfect with zero astigmatisms.

  10. Not sure if I really grasped what the solution is, but I guess this was an exercise in determining if your eyes are seeing the line/slope properly? So, more of a diagnosis, than a correction ?
