On this week’s Scout Report, we look at Man City’s striker situation and how the club can address the number 9 spot going into the summer. With Sergio Aguero out of contract and Gabriel Jesus a rotation player, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan have shouldered the majority of the goalscoring burden, and City could do with a reliable striker for all their creative midfielders to work around.

Guardiola has been credited with an interest in Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, and the Norwegian looks perfect for the side – if they can beat Real Madrid to his signing. Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan could also be raided, and with rumours suggested both Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku for a Manchester switch, we take a look at their numbers to see who would be the better fit.

Finally, we suggest a cheaper alternative, in PSV Eindhoven’s Donyell Malen, who could supplement the attack without destroying Jesus’ prospects, and we discuss where City can afford to learn from Liverpool, despite racing ahead of them in the Premier League table this season.
