Josh really compared Olise to Mudueke, I love Mudueke and I’m not selling him because he has a high ceiling, but Olise is a monster!!! He can play on the right and as a 10. 1v1 and dribbles mudueke might edge him out but barely everything else Olise is better.
Love you josh but your stats are all wrong this episode, alvarez has 9 none penalty goals in 31 starts and 35 matches, underperformed his XG, missed more big chances than scored and is in the best team in England.
Sesko is a better finisher over performing his XG by almost double 14 goals with a 7XG so was scoring goals he wasn't expected to, no penalties either just bangers. Also only missed 8 big chances compared to alvarez 11. He also offers a lot more that we don't have, I don't think alvarez is too dissimilar to an nkunku in strike and has Jackson level dribbling which is good but neither have sesko height, sesko strength, arguably sesko speed. Sesko is also cheaper and younger, man city don't even want to sell alvarez, however with sesko it's all down to him

My personal point of view is:
Sesko would suit “CHELSEA” more (Drogba, Diego Costa and Osgood) but……. I think Alvarez would be the better buy to suit Maresca and the player we have around us… PLUSSSSSS Alvarez would smash it in the prem as a 9 playing all 38games (Jackson standing next to him doesn’t even lace his boots)
I think Josh is wrong about football having moved past having big strikers. It seems that taller players are coming back if anything, more teams have biggers strikers, arsenal went from Jesus -> havertz and city, -> aguero -> haaland. And look at the best defences in the league, they’re made up of 4 big cb’s and not smaller fullbacks.

I like Sterling on paper, and as a person seems cool, but never really liked him as a player and think his stats are helps with playing for city, a lot of city players have stats better than the rest but when you’re playing in a team who have won the league 4 times back to back, it’s probably slightly easier. I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes 🙂

Would it not be better to get someone similar to Jackson who is strong and has good link up and add finishing to that. He paired up well with Palmer and i feel like that was beneficial for both of them.

I don't think Olise should start over Madueke, right in the first game of the season. Just like we did with Palmer, we could ease him into the team. Then based on performance and form, we can be more clear as to who may start. I really rate Madueke, he's really good.

Signing Álvarez could be a mistake not for the quality of the player, but because of the associated price tag he may have. Man City don't seem happy to see him go, and that may lead to Alvarez being more expensive which is awful for a club toeing the line with FFP the way Chelsea is. We also need to sign a new CB and a GK.
If Sesko is cheaper by a considerable amount, I honestly would prefer to take him. Taller and dominant in the air too, which is something we don't have a lot of.
I agree with joey here. The profile of a osimhen/sesko is what we need, both based on the players we already got with theese skilled ”firmino type” of strikers nkunku and jackson. We dont have that big tall clinical with a big presence in the box. Also historically we always do better with the diego costa/drogba type of strikers instead of the werner/schevschenko/torres types

Would love olise and alverez but where will they play? They palmer has the Rw locked off and alverez just isn’t a lone number 9, just feels like we’re gonna have 10 wingers next year
Maresca actually used long balls to build out when they were under pressure and their sustained pressure was with the goal to get the wingers isolated and then cross into the box. He also played half the season with Daka who wouldn’t get involved in the play and was more of a poacher

If Alvarez replaced Jackson in all those chances we saw he’d have 30+ games in the games Jackson had. As could sesko but they’d finish different chances in different ways
