England have so many good players! But how should Gareth Southgate setup England so that we can win Euro 2024? Should Foden play in midfield? Are Palmer and Mainoo guaranteed starters?

  1. When I saw Maguire selected I had to go, but not before saying there's some serious World Class players in this ENG squadI
POTY in Germany – Kane, POTY in ENG – Foden, POTY in Spain – Bellingham, then there's the man/machine himself, Declan Rice.
Just the LB & GK are mediocre, Shaw is good but was out injured virtually all season, so what match fitness does he have.
I remember ENG having a seemingly continuous flow of great GK's, Shilton, Seaman, now's there Pickford & Ramsdale.
But the biggest weakspot, the chain link made from a pepsi cola can, is Kneelgate the Manager!
After fluffing the Euro final v Italy, bottling it in the WC semis v France, how is he still in charge!
I would have gone ruthless and handed the reins over to Maureeniho for this tournament.
He's knows the culture, the country, loves the English and is highly respected, that Portugeezer would have sent out those players with more fire in their Belly than that English could ever do.
I still put France's team, on paper any ways, slight favourites to win it, with their squad simply ridiculous in quality.
The muderously paced Mbappe, having just signed for RM, will be on a high.

  2. Judging by recent trials in the mid, I'm inclined to believe rice will start alongside gallagher in a double pivot, it's not rocket science people, just stating the obvious…

  3. I'd take the last option. It's a shame because TAA, Palmer, Eze, Grealish and Wharton don't get a look in, but that's some great substitute options.

  4. You cannot play Foden, Bellingham and Palmer at the same time. You can play 2 against poor teams. Against good teams I think playing 2 will get us found out it needs to be balanced. It needs to be Rice, Mainoo / Gallagher / Trent and one of the 3 Bellingham, Foden or Palmer. Foden is a better player than Gordon for example, but he is not better than Gordon on the left wing. It's like we learnt nothing from the 'golden generation', playing people in their natural position is essential against top opposition it is a team game

  5. Thought you’d lost your marbles until the last selection.

Balance in first two are way off but that 3rd team is bang on. Palmer coming on for the final 25 to terrorise opposition. It’s important to have quality on the bench too!
