  1. Funny how people are calling them shameless when clearly what it looks like is city went by these rules and just had a higher spending limit within these rules in place.

  2. This is disgusting, they are essentially saying your vote doesn't matter and we should be able to spend as we please because we are a rich club owned by the UAE. Ganging up on them? How ridiculous and just because they voted against their benefit.

  3. The Premier League's APT rules were originally introduced in December 2021 in the wake of the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United. The regulations are in place to guard against clubs using sponsorship deals with companies linked to their owners to inflate revenue streams and allow more room for spending.

This legal action has nothing to do with the charges which all pre date 2019 and has no impact on them at all.

  4. This stinks in exactly the same way as a burglar breaking into your house, stepping on a rake that slaps him on the forehead, and then suing you for damages..

  5. So they're basically admitting to being guilty by saying the rules aren't fair.

Honestly everything about that club is soulless and plastic.

  6. Laws require terms, and terms require specific words arranged in clear sentences. The PL clearly don't and didn't have their ducks in any row whatsoever, or Pannick wouldn't be showing them that their 'rules' weren't fit for purpose. City are a philanthropic project, benefitting many thousands of manchester people. Simple imbalance of funding is not a reason, you small-minded and bitter fans of other clubs, for a club to be subject to arbitrary legal sanctions..

  7. They broke rules that were put in place to stop them from doing the same thing that all the successful clubs had done before them sounds like they have a case
