Romelu Lukaku has spoken out about racism and discrimination he has received both in the media and from football supporters.
The Belgian striker told OTRO that ever since he missed a chance for Manchester United against Real Madrid in the Super Cup in 2017, he feels he has received a ‘lack of respect’ from fans.

a pointless video about his ego. you cannot say theyre racist if they dont like your performance. especially when you have other black teammates that dont get what you complain of.

I hate people that use racists insults to criticize players. There is fair criticism to put towards Lukaku but his ethnicity is never one

Pff, Lukaku is just mad because newspapers make fun of his touch, which is horrible. Imagine how good he could have been if he only had a proper first touch. He's good alright, but he could have been a proper worldie. He spoils so many chances and hampers so much build up play just because of his touch.
From this short clip, it's impossible to know whether the lack of respect from the newspaper and fans was caused by racism. If you play for one of the biggest clubs in the world the expectations are very high and you are not free from criticism.
Some people’s world view mean they think this is about missing chances and first touch. Think about how Lukaku is described compared to say the Fulham striker. Is Mitrovic called a fall track bull, a beast or a physical specimen every game…….no. Lukaku is a top twenty premiership striker in terms of goals all time, scored double figures for seven years straight. No Pelé got it but clearly there is a limited bias and racial tone to the commentary of black players which is so out dated and needs to change imo.

I am SO proud of him and how long he’s come! It’s so disgusting that people judge him on his skin (even though his skin color is BEAUTIFUL, but some people are too blind to see that) he’s a wonderful guy, yes I don’t know him (hopefully one day I will) but by the way he plays, talks in interviews and interacts with his teammates and others, you can tell he’s a LOVLY person. ♥️♥️♥️
And now he's seeing racism in football teams too.
An intelligent footballer who’ll never be described that way because he’s black. More likely to hear him described as a ‘beast’ even though he hardly uses his strength.
