Big Clubs Need To STOP Buying Players From BENFICA

There are a handful of footballing institutions that are known for producing spectacular talents,

That end up moving away from their club in order to pursue opportunities at bigger clubs.

Clubs like Ajax, Dortmund, Porto, Sporting Lisbon, Feyenoord, and Benfica have produced World class talents such as: Cruyff, Ricardo Carvalho, Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Luis Suarez, Robin Van Persie, Ibrahimovic, Di Maria, and ofcourse Cristiano Ronaldo.

But it’s the latter of those clubs that I want to focus on.

See Benfica is positioned as one of the best teams in Portugal hence why they always have great young talent at their disposal.

Players like the aforementioned Di Maria, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Matic, Rui Costa, Oblak, Ederson, David Luiz,

Have all come through Benfica’s system and managed to go on to become some of the best players in their position in the whole world.

HOWEVER

When it comes to MAJOR exports from Benfica in the last handful of years,

The players aren’t passing the Diamond tester if you know what I’m saying.

Of Course there are other transfers that come out of Benfica that may not go on to become world beaters but I don’t necessarily want to focus on those transfers since they were not necessarily the most hyped.

Players like Raul Jimenez and Victor Lindelof have found relative success at their new clubs, but their departures from Benfica were not watched under the same eye as the players who we’re going to be focusing on.

The players we’ll be looking at today are all under current investigation to determine if they are Frauds or not.

Interestingly enough they all also left Benfica under pretty similar circumstances which might be an indicator of something as well.

But have greatly under-achieved since.
