According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will join the race to sign Upamecano come the summer. The 22 year-old signed a new Leipzig deal last year which contains a release clause of around £40m. The likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona also maintain an interest in the 22-year-old who helped Leipzig reach the semi-finals of last season’s Champions League.
Fikayo Tomori looks set to go on loan this month, Frank Lampard has confirmed. The Chelsea centre-back has barely featured this season after making his first-team breakthrough last term. Lampard still hopes the 23-year-old will be able to establish himself at Stamford Bridge – but his decision to leave him out of his starting line-up against Morecambe was evidence of just how far down the pecking order he is.

Upamecano sounds amazing but where does he fit in? Would he replace Silva right away in the first team or sit on the bench until we need him? I feel like a talent like him needs to be playing first team football

It's not Lampard that gave Tomori his player profile man! Yeah, Lampard gave him opportunities but it's Tomori who took it! Like any good player, he took his chance and built his profile himself! Lampard has a hand in it but no way did he "give" Tomori his player profile like you said. Many youngsters get chances, it's their talent and hard work that allows them to build their profile while others disappear.
We know you are a Lampard fan, I am too. He's my all time 2nd favorite player after Terry. I want Lampard to succeed at Chelsea and it would be a dream come true for all Chelsea fan if he does that! So, I get your urge to defend him as a fan, but let's be fair to others as well at least sometimes? Chelsea should buy a central midfielder or two that can tackle. Only Kante can do that right now. Mason presses well but can't tackle and the same goes for the rest of the midfield and attack. Either Lampard trains the players to tackle efficiently and protect the spaces better or the club buys players that can do that. Looking back at the City game, even the small players like Bernardo Silva are very difficult to turn and go past. We don't have that right now. It's a bit of a worry having only one midfielder that can actually tackle and get the ball back.
Mason Mount got so much faith that Tomori and loaned player loftus cheek didn't get and they should be world class by now cause mount form increased with so much game time
