  1. Should have been worrying about all of them lol the whole build up on here and talk sport talking like france is a 1 man team lol ridiculous they are the reigning champions and been the most consistant in the tournament so far like WTF

  2. He didn't tonight…well done France. P45 for Southgate. Maddison will think better next time about playing under Southgate. The emotions he must be going through. He fought so hard to get selected only for Southgate to totally avoid playing him.

  3. Never mind Mbappe, we're playing against the ref, too!!!!!
    So that's it, we're out!!!!!!
Another big occasion England didn't rise to, we were ordinary but did I imagine it or were England the ''better team''??? If we'd played even close to how we can I don't see how we wouldn't have won, but……………….. we didn't.
That ref should never be in charge of a big game ever again, he didn't change the outcome + had nothing to do with the result, but he was a disgrace none the less.
And Harry Kane taking that 2nd penalty, I'm crying out for someone else to take it, he won't score twice, how did I know that, it was painfully clear to me + I'm an idiot, why didn't anyone else know it?!?!?
Someone else take it, I'm saying this before he took it, by the way, but boils down to not giving a performance to match the occasion, although I say again I really don't think France were any better.
They did edge it in the ''putting the ball in the back of the net'' department, no small thing, but aside from that was anyone thinking we can't beat this lot????
I'm a big Southgate fan, but there's a definite weakness in that area, the pressure Kane was under for the 2nd pen was far in excess of any other player for that kick, someone else should have taken it. I'm gutted that I ''knew'' 'he'd miss, I know I sound like a smart arse, but I'm not smart, an arse is harder to deny, evidence may be available to support that one, but someone should have taken it.
Southgate has taken England to a point where the ability to win a World Cup is practically undeniable, you can see it's within us but there's something mental, as opposed to physical, I think is holding us back. Big games, never mind the opposition, we just don't ever seem to give it a right go. We played OK today but we've got more than we showed, don't go home with any regrets, is always good advice, will the boys have any???
I think they will, they've nothing to be ashamed of, not at all, we showed we're among the top teams, I believe that no one would be too sure of beating us, they know what we can do but likely think the chances are we won't do it when it matters.
I'd agree, if they do, today mattered, but we go home again after losing to the first top side we face, but show that beating them is nowhere near to beyond us, we just never do.
Winning is what we need to learn, we lose games that are almost hard to lose but we manage to find a way. Did France look like World Champions, no, they didn't play well but it was still good enough………….
Before I go, don't forget that ref, he was an embarrassment, to football at large, that kind of incompetence in a World Cup quarter-final reflects very negatively on the greatest sports competition on the planet. Someone, who isn't English, needs to make sure that man never again is given a job he can't do anywhere near to the standard required.
Anyone English, saying as much, won't be seen as anything other than making excuses, the ref was crap whatever you're making, make what you like, just take away that man's whistle + we'll say no more about it.
Argentina, for me, I see them as most likely…………. Or Croatia, they're no less likely, thinking about it……… But France can't be ignored…………. + Morocco won't go down without a fight.
    That, I am sure of……………..

  4. And he did 👏🏾, wasn’t enough though unfortunately, poor managerial decisions gave it to France for me, despite being the better team on paper, we had it in the bag

  5. This guy on the left is seriously underestimating this French team lol and now look, guy didn’t even score, mbappe played well but he wasn’t even the greatest danger today, they all were collectively

  6. So who is going to the airport to welcome them? I heard ‘England’s coming home’ 🙂🙂 (Loving the English media scampering to make excuses, it’s hilarious and entertaining)

  7. All the attention on Mbappe, and for what? LOL thanks for jinxing them!
Mbappe didn't even play well last night and France won. Griezmann had a blinder. Giroud is a baller. Tchouameni ran midfield by himself entirely.
I loooooove English naivety – thanks Paul Merson 🤣
