Alvarez has been surplus to requirements for Pep for the whole season.
The kid allows City to play better up front break teams down easier but because he's not playing so regularly, whenever he does get a chance he snatches at goal opportunities and it looks really bad.
Pep really has a bad strategy when it comes to strikers.
Alvarez minutes in the last couple months were down quite a bit with Haaland, Foden and KDB getting most of them

I find alvarez overrated
It's a good idea for Alvarez to play in the Olympics because he has not had a huge amount of game time at City except in Haaland's absence.
This is so embarrassing… Alvarez doesn't start for city because KDB and possibly bew midfielders will be there start of the season.. Alvarez can also afford to rest when the season starts
