  1. the most important is winning a match, not how mad team is when it loses. Keep it cool, and play the best football. Let history judge.

  2. tbf nothing lvg said was worth all this drama. just shows the real side of Messi. very unsportmanslike game from both sides. as far as I understood Weghorst just wanted to swap shirts with Messi. They misunderstood what he wanted so afterwards Weghorst went to Messi to explain what he meant. Messi surely lost my respect for this game. lvg retired but came back because the Netherlands wanted him to coach this badly. He has had an amazing carreer as a coach and should be respected in the football world. the fact he had a plan for every single situation and made the most unexpected subs in that game which eventually caused the 2-2 in the exact way they were trained for, just shows how much of a genius he still is at 71 years of age while also battling cancer. He doesnt deserve these salty little clowns like Messi and di Maria to rub salt in his wounds. disgraceful

  3. Paredes is going to cost Argentina with his fouls, either in the semis or finals. Scaloni better inform him they are in the World Cup and not playing against some middle table club in the French league.

  4. The reason he calls Brazil a "little counter team" is because that's what the Dutch team got called in our nation media (more or less). Dutch media really hate not playing 4-3-3 Total Football. While many international critics felt the Dutch played a decent if not explosive world cup, domestic critics despise the playing style and call them "FC Tikkie Breed" (Lateral Pass FC). Those same critics called Brazil, playing with similar tactics but a bit more flair and style moves, "sparkling".

That's where Van Gaal's frustrated remarks came from, I guess. I think he has a point – for the first time in generations, the Dutch central defenders are the best part of our national team, which leads to a more defensive playstyle. Nobody in the world has a problem with that, apart from the Dutch ex-footballers constantly lambasting it on tv and in the papers. But that same playstyle is suddenly fine when other countries (even big countries) use it. That's why he was applying those same kind of denigrating remarks to Brazil – in his eyes, it's what Dutch journalists would have called Brazil if they had the same standards for other teams as for our own.

  5. What van Gaal did was mind games. Managers do this frequently, to unsettle the opponents. Messi the GOAT should not have been affected by this.

  6. he didn't exactly say "what the hell…" it was more like a "what are you looking at? ("qué mirás?) go away* ("andá para allá" – could be paraphrased to "keep walking"), bobo (which is not entirely "stupid". Way softer, more like "dumb"/"dummy").

MUCHAAAAACHOOOOS, AHORA NOS VOLVIMO' A ILUSIONAAAAR

  7. Van Gaal has long history of issues with Argentinian players, Riquelme, Di Maria. Messi celebration is for those players he left at the bench and ended their career.

  8. An angry Messi is better than an insecure one. He's not as quick as he used to be, but he can still serve some great balls. He may no longer dominate, but can still make a difference with his passes and drawing some defenders from the opposing team. I think we will see some memorable games this week.

  9. Its typical in the latin culture to gain motivation from negativity from the other side. Its somehow a theater 🎭 showcase (as in the game fake emotions about nothing just to provoke) and it happens all the time. Its unsportsmanlike even more if you realize there 80k ppl from Argentina in the stadion. Argentine is just not that good at the moment and this was the way to win. Holland didn’t play well also. But beside the bad ref and the unsportsmanlike childish act it was exiting and if you like drama even the childishness was a fun part of the game nothing more nothing less. I didn’t like it but thats a matter taste. I would never want to win that way.

  10. Celebrating is one thing. Mocking your opponents however is another.
Messi is a 35-years guy, which means, an adult and one of the best payed "professional" football players but he was acting like a goddamn kid.

  11. Please dont excuse dumbnest be honest messi has a history of being arrogant and one the dumbest players. Now this report was only one sided ny suggestion is do a better job.

  12. It's fine, but people claim Messi always keeps his cool, if Ronaldo did this the whole media will be after him. This just show that both goats are humans with emotions. Great display from both players down the years, they will be missed.

  13. Half Argentinian team should be baned for rest of the tournament. They should set an example to younger people how to behave and not behave like they have just come from slums. And I agree with coach that messi is not team player. I can remember many times when he gave up playing when his teammates did mistakes and he is very toxic imo.

  14. Dear Argentina please translate dutch statements before talking yourself into some kind of 'disrespect' which never happened. In times of fake news lets try to keep football an honest environment where words are not being taken out of context to create some false narrative to hype yourself. Lvg was in fact honoring your team quite a bit. Dutch media had more criticism but no one takes those journalist seriously especially not LVG

  15. From 1;52 youre literally just lying where is the footage lvg said that. No where this is why this match was so hostile because trash media created some false story while if you actually look at wat lvg really said there was no disrespect. Nothing weird about recalling an old match and talking about your teams qualities. Way more respectful than di maria just plainly saying worst manager ever.
