Matt Turner (eng. Matt Turner; June 24, 1994, Park Ridge, New Jersey, USA) is an American football player, goalkeeper for the New England Revolution and the US national team.
Turner was available in the 2016 MLS Super Draft but remained unselected.
On March 3, 2016, Turner signed with MLS club New England Revolution after a successful pre-season screening.
On April 29, 2016, he went on loan to USL’s Richmond Kickers and made his professional debut the following day against Toronto II. In April 2017, he returned on loan to the Richmond Kickers.
Before the 2018 season, Turner, who had previously been the third goalkeeper for the New England Revolution, won the competition for the place of the club’s main goalkeeper from Cody Cropper and Brad Knighton, and made his MLS debut on March 3, 2018 in the opening match of the season against the Philadelphia Union. On August 21, 2019, Turner signed a new multi-year contract with the New England Revolution. At the end of the 2020 season, he finished second in the MLS Goaltender of the Year voting behind Andre Blake, and was voted the team’s MVP by New England Revolution fans. On January 19, 2021, Turner signed a new contract with the New England Revolution. On June 19, 2021, in a match against New York City, he made seven saves, including saving a penalty, for which he was named MLS Player of the Week.
