Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath signed with Nottingham Forest today and @TacticalManager and I are breaking it all down. Will he start? How do we rate the move? Also, David Ochoa continues his flirtation with El Tri. What does it mean? Who will he end up playing for?

Loved the impromptu stream. We definitely cannot forget about Ochoa. He seems to have a commanding leadership quality that is unique within our goalkeeping group.
MLS is the best developmental academy for the Mexican National teams. Who would have thought that MLS, a league Mexicans hate and say is shit, is developing players for them because they can't develop players in Mexico? đ€
Was hoping for a video with news on our USMNT Abroad, thanks guys love your content
Pete⊠I got the White 11 Yanks shirt and the Black July 4th shirtâŠ. Love them
The July 4th shirt would be soo sick as a Tank Top
Pete, I really enjoy listening to you and Felipe together. You both have excellent knowledge and a clear delivery. You guys are good together, but sometimes there is too much group think. I'm wondering if there would be added value to getting another viewpoint on the streams? El Tre supporter maybe? I just think it might be even MORE entertaining to hear. Regardless, I'll keep listening.
Once Ochoaâs bio has a flag change
He ainât moving to Europe
Mexico had the Memo Ochoa failed & conceded almost 500 goals in almost 300 games
Gudiño flopped at Cyprus and Porto B
While US has had Howard , Keller , Friedel ectâŠ.
The US flag is a thing European teams want now & being with Mexico he ainât leaving Thats why Araujo is waiting to make a move to then switch to Mexico
Such a mistake if he's not starting at Forrest.
He should have played gold cup and would have a lot more legit offers.
All this talk about how far usmnt can go is worthless without a legit goalie.
Every fanbase around the world, supports players that want to play for them but when they turn their backs on the country and the fanbase, that is when they lose support. If Mex-Americans want to leave, they can go. I will not continue to show support for someone who could care less about me, as a fan.
I do like these hangouts. Please keep them doing them. You mentioned Sargent for a moment here. I was thinking about Sargent and comparing his German experience to Cherundolo. I wonder with a new coach if she should stay? Maybe help them gain promotion since they really aren't selling everyone off. He could become Mayor of Bremen like Cherundolo got the nickname The Mayor of Hannover. Just a thought. I think his team and old coach were his biggest issues. Also, Bundesliga level defenders were just a half step to high and a year in Bundesliga 2 may be just what he needs?
To be fair, Jackson Yuiell went up to David Ochoa and put his head up and hugged him
Iâm a fan of the impromptu streams. As an American of Hispanic descent (Dominican Republic) it is great to see other Hispanics in the national team but it isnât necessary. I want the best players playing for The Yanks.
Something I will say that a lot of USA fans are ignorant and toxic and that probably rubs the Mexican-Americans the wrong way. In the USMNT subreddit some dude was making excuses for USA fans having social security card chants vs Mexico, saying it isnât racist. This type of stuff doesnât help.
Kane is only 27, come on over across the pond Balogun đ đ
Forest Are Magic ââ.â
Who would've seen the day that the USMNT would be complaining about having a number 1 goalie at the best team in the England yes he isn't a starter of course not but it's crazy that these lads are so privileged to not want him as your number 1 and ain't no one hyping up Ravel Morrison who is below average m8
As a Mexican-American who grew up in a select soccer program, I can say that teams were certainly fragmented. Most players were white who had the money to play and the colored players were usually on a scholarship. So there were cultural and socioeconomic differences that I can't imagine are much different at the highest level in the US. Most Mexican-American players also come from working-class families and most white players come from higher-income families. You can imagine the silent resentment and after a bad experience in a tournament, you can understand a player preferring to be with players that reflect themselves a little more.
Back in the day when Rossi and Subotic chose other countries I was pretty salty about it, but nowadays im just excited to see Americans doing well…. I married into a Salvadoran family and its so fun to see Americans playing well for El Salvador, and you know what… I'll root for every Mexican American who chooses El Tri over the US, except for the 90min we see them on the field….
Other countries are actively seeking out American Dual Nationals! Seeking them out… think about that…. that as big a part of our growth as Pulisic winning CL, MLS becoming popular and Soccer being easy to find on tv….
I dont care who an American plays for… they're American and I'm excited to watch them play
I figured it out. Acosta, Yueil, and Lletget are balanced because they're both equally "good" on offense and defense!
Love the streams!
Found this lookig for information on Horvath. I'm a forest fan from Nottingham and the reason Brice samba had a poor last season was he needed to have have competition for his place. The whole team has a really off season. It might have something to to with the last day collapse the previous season when we needed 1 point for the play-offs. The last season got off to a bad start and the previous manager got fired and Chris Hughton came in. i hope to see Ethan challenge and play at the CITY GROUND.
The best Mexican-American XI might be something like:
David Ochoa
Julian Araujo- Mauricio Pineda, Miguel Ponce
Isaac Brizuela- Jonathan Gonzalez -Richard Ledezma -Efrain Alvarez –
Santiago Muñoz – Cade Cowell
I couldn't think of a single other center back but these are the rest I thought of:
William Yarborough, Frankie Amaya, Ricardo Pepi, Uly Llanenz, Sebastian Saucedo, Sebastian Soto, Alex Mendes, Johan and Jonathan Gomez, Christian Torres.
Yâall do know most Mexican American players grew up watching, supporting El Tri right? Which means they grew up slightly hating the USMNT?
Ochoaâs goalkeeping idol is very likely to be Memo Ochoa or Oswaldo Sanchez.
Jonathan Gomezâs idol is probably Rafa MĂĄrquez or Carlos Salcido.
Itâs about the heart and if they choose a certain national team itâs not always about the âeasy routeâ.
At đČđœ, Mexico has two very talented left backs in Gerardo Arteaga 22 (Genk), Omar Campos 18 (Santos) yet if he chooses El Tri itâs the easy way out?
From what I know Berhalter doesnât like Robinson and Vines is the only left back competition besides Dest whoâs naturally a right back?
Câmon people donât be hypocrites
Que juegue con México Alcabo que aquà hay mås
How good is Tomas Romero from LAFC? I don't follow them and see he's only recently started playing for them over a 26yr. old Mexican keeper.
I don't want to lose Ochoa to El Tri, but if we do I want to keep Tomas. Especially since he appears to really wants to play for the US.
Bustio is not long for MLS
Busio wonât be in MLS long
As a Forest fan, I'm gonna say that you can't say Horvath likely won't OR surely will be our No. 1. I think that Horvath appears to be a great signing for my club, but viewers and commenters here should not underestimate Brice Samba because the main man on this video read that one article (which used fairly dramatic language) concerning Samba's performance last season. Samba was signed the summer before last on a permanent deal alongside Manchester City goalkeeping prospect Arijanet Muric on loan. Muric started the season, so Samba was intended to be the back-up goalkeeper to the City youngster that season at least. HOWEVER, Muric had a terrible start to 19/20, making some real errors. Samba thus played all of the rest of the season, and it was a great debut season. Best goalie in our English second division, and he remains one of the best in the league now. Our players were on form that year, but suffered a devastating end to the season, missing out on the playoffs on goal difference. With such a short gap between 19/20 and 20/21 due to Covid, the players had no time to recover from that bitter disappointment. As a result, throughout the team, confidence was low and that affected everyone's performances. Samba's tail-off in form was almost natural considering that he had such a great first season, but the team failed at the last hurdle. They lost confidence, Samba included, and so yes, he was less consistent last season than he had been in 19/20. Forest had a bad 20/21, finishing low down in the table, when this club should be challenging at the top end of the table EVERY season. Forest will do better in 21/22 – I have absolute confidence in that statement. We can be challenging, and our players will all be in better form this season. Brice Samba with restored confidence and in good form as in his debut season….. if he gets the nod to start the league season, with the greatest respect, Horvath won't displace him imo – an injury to Samba affording him an opportunity aside. That is why, this preseason, I will be observing the goalkeeping situation with keen interest. If Horvath plays well and gets in ahead of Samba for the league, then fair enough – he'll have earned it. But Samba has previous in showing great form for this club, has been very dependable and so it'd be very hard on him if Ethan was to displace him. Samba has been the best keeper I've seen at the club in my decade as a fan, and other fans have declared him our best since England all-time appearance maker and Forest club legend Peter Shilton.
Though an addition in this department of the squad was unexpected, I really appreciate it, as Samba needed a better challenger for his place than our other senior goalkeeping option, who came through our academy and may have stayed around too long for sentimental or financial reasons.
In summary, Ethan Horvath has a great chance to displace our current No. 1 Brice Samba this preseason, but Samba is quite so good that Horvath would struggle to take the shirt if Samba starts the league season, unless he gets injured. Horvath looks a great addition for Forest though. For me and my team, he will at the very least push Samba hard and bring the very best out of him, which is why you bring in a goalkeeper of Horvath's calibre, when our current first choice has suffered a dip in form. They'll battle it out this preseason, and to be fair, the best goalie in the eyes of the manager, who is not just 'old' but vastly experienced and respected in the English game, will be No. 1 – and I don't buy this idea of him being biased against American players. Just sounds like a ready-made excuse. Chris Hughton – and that's pronounced H-'you'-tun by the way pal – will see who does best and judge them on their quality and delivery of performance, I am sure. The very best of luck to Ethan Horvath upon his arrival at Forest. As long as Forest are fielding a keeper in form, I don't mind who plays.. but Ethan has some work to do in the coming weeks to convince Hughton that he should play ahead of Samba. Just saying…. đ
11 Yanks.. would you back a tournament that could say take place in summer 2022, that would see all of your correspondingly ranked top MLS teams play our English Championship sides (i.e. Championship champions plays the MLS Cup winners and so on)… cos I bet you if that happened.. while your very best may beat ours in the second team, our league would come out on top overall, if we tallied the points from the outcomes of all 24 matches (or we could do top 20 or whatever), in the usual 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw format…..? Basically, if it happened, then I'd wager that our SECOND TIER sides could overall come out on top against the best of the MLS! đ
Ochoa chose Mexico . Sow it today in a interview.
I'm glad for Ethan Horvath having a new club for forest FC hopefully he can grow there to be the best goalkeeper ever
