I think those 4 WR over 650 yards will be Kincaid, Shakir (those 2 i see as interchangeable in order), Samuel and Coleman. Cook, Knox, Hollins, MVS i see under 650 most likely but you never know. If Claypool makes the team he could be a wildcard, especially he catches fire. #GoBills
Loved the James Cook Conversation, I think its fair to say James benefited a lot from fantastic run blocking, but i do think his skillset is really good for exploiting that blocking. hes extremely explosive out of his breaks and his vision has really developed. i agree however hes not complete without being able to pass pro better.
The 4 that will go over 650 are
Kincaid
Shakir
Samuel and Colman
When was this Diggs offense? Diggs will be missed as much as Hill was missed in KC.
I really like prohaska. I wish you two would get together once a week for a podcast during the season. I would also like to know who between you two who would win in a rap battle?
This season is gonna be so fascinating for us bills fans. So many unknowns. It’s gonna make this season that much more fun to watch
Why do football fans forget all that a player has done for their team as soon as they move on. He did not sign a lifetime to contract. Football fans are such children.
Why have 1 guy recieve for 1200+ yds when you can get 3-4 guys with 800+ yards and make it harder for a defense to predict the top target. Im happy with a young hungry WR room
Thurman Thomas in his best year had 669 yards on 60 receptions, and that was before the 90s SB run. I'm not sure Cook will get that many targets.
Using too many short and screen passes, that increases the number of plays run and that increases the wear and tear on the O line. Hoping for q good mix.
My 4th to top 650 would be MVS because he can make the explosive plays that offset the lack of targets. Claypool can be that guy as well but obviously there's more guess work with him.
Diggs was the worst screen receiver I have ever seen. He was bad on the few they ran under Dorsey, Brady should have seen this and not run it so much. This crew by their physical nature should be better.
Joe-Ant is basically Jordan-Pippen… only it’s two jordans
Love Anthony and Cover1! This was a great conversation – I can’t wait for the season to start! I’m going to say Kinkaid, Shakir, Coleman & Samuel all top 650 yards! Go Bills! #BillsMafia🎉
Not true Andy Isabella caught a pass shakir is the only WR to catch a TD
I think kincade and shakir will both have over 1k and i think samuel and coleman will both have over 500. Knox is gonna be sneaky idk what he will do but i think hes gonna have some big games and his td number will end up higher.
I think chase claypool is going to emerge as a top 10 WR
I am under the impression mack hollins will light up the target board and anticipate him to be a mentor role for Coleman
I think people are sleeping on ray Davis. He reminds me of Thurman n Brian Westbrook.
Class act with the tag team of Joe and the Ant!
Ant's a great guest. This show, Cover1, and Buffalo Plus. Bills Mafia is lucky!
I go Kincaid, Shakir, Samuel and Coleman. My spoiler is Knox, if he stays healthy and avoids the dropsies.
I don't think Josh Allen is incapable of running screens. The bills have not had a lot of skill position players that were great at running screens either which has to be accounted for. I also think that has led to the screen game not being practiced much which will affect the office's ability to run it effectively.
Talk D…. That’s the issue ….And always been …. The O is exciting and new for sure …. Deserves talk … but D is most important at this point
If Allen is going to have to win games cognitively or ( from the neck up) ….. it’s going to be a looooooong season.
Dorsey deployed the same E.P. Offense that Daboll did. The system never changed and Dorsey was well versed in this system, not only from his time in Buffalo but also with Cam Newton in Carolina. Daboll learned this system in NE and McDermott identified this scheme as a fit for Allen, because it helps mask his weaknesses as far as getting the ball out on time or playing within structure.
The issue wasn’t Dorsey… the only season that Allen played consistently well for the entirety of the season was 2020, the Covid year with no fans in the stands.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that when Buffalo made it to the playoffs that season and limited fans were allowed to attend games, Allen’s performance dropped off a cliff. The Baltimore divisional game and the KC AFC championship were mediocre performances from Allen.
Every season since has been hit or miss with Josh. He has 4-6 games a year were he is the worst player on the field for either team.
Judging by the statements made by Brady, McDermott and Beane… the system isn’t changing this year either. There may be some tweaks to the way it’s called or schemed based on player personnel, but I highly doubt we’re going to see Allen suddenly playing in time or making anticipatory throws.
The reason that the Bills were so successful down the stretch last season is because they leaned heavily into the run game to limit Allen’s turnovers AND the addition of Douglas solidified the defense.
I’ve said it 100 times and I’ll keep repeating. Including playoffs, Buffalo’s defense held eleven teams to 21 points or less and they went 11-0 in those games. Allen and the offense went 1-7 against teams that scored more than 21 points.
My four for over 650….Kincaid, Samuel, Shakir and……here we go….Claypool!!
If Bill's Mafia is having a hard time figuring out what this Bills offense is going to look like What are opposing defensive coordinators going to do ha ha. I think Joe Brady is going to keep everybody confused.
I don't think the Bills should pay James Cook a big contract after his 4 year contract is up. Run him in 2024 and 2025, and keep their options open after that.
1. Coleman
2. Samuel
3. Cook
4. Kincade/Knox
What no one seems to realize in the TE position on our team will be used underneath.
I think ti will be clome cook Shakira and the new running back
First off wtf is this dude? A nobody? Second I couldn't agree less with everything y'all said. bad bad takes
Kincaid will have 150 targets just like diggs. The difference is allen won't be forcing those targets to kincaid. He'll be targeted when he's open or close to it.
I like your show man, but you act like the bills is some innocent football team that deserves to win a super bowl
KC won the SB w/o a 1000 yd receiver. Having one isn't necessary. Our D is what has cost us in the playoffs…we all should hope the injury bug doesn't hit again
Loud, we can just stop talking about digs.We got other wireless receivers we need to speak about. Now that dude's gone let it be gone
Alternatively, Khalil Shakir is the only Bills receiver who has ever dropped a pass from Josh Allen. Go Bills!!
Yall better get used to paying RBs , cause RBs are making a comeback as Offenses move back to running the ball.
Love the Braves jersey
I am sure if you look at previous episodes you will see my comments about Josh Allen throwing the screen match 100% with what you said today. Your further conclusion that the Bills should throw more screens is illogical. Josh doesn't need to learn how to throw the screen because the Bills should never do it. 95% of the Bills pass plays should be balls thrown on a line usually 10 to 30 yards downfield sometimes 40. The rest should be lob bombs even though Josh doesn't throw them especially well either.
Cook should never be asked to pass block (or run someone over for that matter). If he is in for a pass play, he should be running a route. If the expectation is the rush will get there, it should be a route ten yards downfield but outside or underneath the other receivers.
Travis Clayton should be your blocking running back if you think we need one. Looking at him carrying the ball in his rugby highlights, instead of wasting a down on a screen run the draw.
The word that Ant was looking for is Synergy.
Josh Allen has a cannon of an arm, and is at his best when he puts the ball down the field with chunk plays. Screen passes never seem to net much yardage overall. None of this dink and dunk stuff.
Shocker, this episode went over.
I think Joe wakes up in a cold sweat when he has a nightmare about paying running backs.
Trump is a criminal and a con man. Some just don't want to see it.
I'm very curious to see what ends up rolling out on the field the defense will be top 15 at minimum, offensively that is what is keeping content creators and DCs up at night I can easily see 3 1K receivers this year, Kincaid, Samuel and Coleman, this will be the year Allen gets MVP and a 💍, off the top my head with Allen 3 receivers have had career bests, Beasley, Smoke and Diggs, pretty confident the top dog in the afc east, and top 3-4 in the AFC
With an offense that looks to spread out their passes, it would seem kind of hard to make predictions on who will get what for stats. A lot of unpredictable surprises last year for the Bills. Defenses also have a say. If someone came out and had an excellent first few games like Diggs last year, chances are pretty decent the other team will know to lock him down. Then Allen will be throwing elsewhere. The next big receiver, defenses probably target too. I'm sure Brady and Allen will be ramming it down opponents' throats to certain receivers at their weakest spots points which can vary between teams.
Also is changing up passing to other receivers worth it if you are successful with your main guy(s) like vs the cowboys last year? All for the sake of letting everyone have receptions? I'm not answering that question.
Kincaid, Shakir, Samuels, and KEON. Yes, I said that. Mostly bc I bot his jersey and I would love for him to be a break out star. It COULD happen…
