I really want to be proved wrong, but I don't see this working out. The inverted fullback box midfield worked like magic when it was initially seen. It will be figured out soon and exposed and I don't see Enzo Maresca as experienced enough to adapt unlike Pep and Mikel. We are going to splash cash on another flop striker and sell our academy players. These owners are frauds, if this fails then we as fans really need to try to force them out. I really, really want to be proved wrong
Colwill was awful when Poch played him as a LB. He was rated as one of the best CBs when he had his loan to Brighton. Hence why Brighton tried anything to keep him. Colwill + Fofane(when fit) is a CB partnership for years to come. Maresca started imo with an inverted LB and switched to the RB. My guess would be: Cucurella LB and inverting. Colwill, Fofane and James as RB. Gusto will get enough minutes next season. With Conference League we have approx 60 games on our hands. So rotation will be a given.

I think enzo maresca will probably play 3 starting cbs which will start as back 4 with james or gusto but will become a 3 in position. Disasi in just because fofana is never fit. Giving us rest defence in 3-2

Giving Maresca a box midfield or a U. Chelsea squad is young and flexible. I do hope they keep cholobah and Gallagher, I didn't include them dew to being linked away. I hope they give him time and more than a season. His tactics are more modern than poch
As a Chelsea fan i must say that we can't rely and should not put pressure on Jackson and actually buy a CF that's ready.
Jackson could come off the bench with much less pressure and work on his finishing.
We need a better goalkeeper,a centre back definitely and we have to address our left wing because Mudryk was forced into this level just like Salah or Vini Jr and the rawness is evident and Sterling had far too many chances to prove he still has it so he needs to go.

We showed patience to CUCURELLA but not JACKSON… I say we get Sesko or stick with NICO. Oshimehn is a luxury we don't particularly need. Jackson has shown that with strict boundaries he can lead the line in a modern way. Nkunku will be key to getting the team to a world class standard. We simply cannot line up without him when fit.

This system is going to be a problem at Chelsea because our Central Midfielders are not goal threats. Enzo lacks accuracy and is way too deep to be a threat or Add numbers upfront… Just like Caicedo who make mistakes when we are playing against a High pressing team he's the weakest link with Badiashile…..
Nkuku and chukwumeka if they can be fit, this system is built for players like them…. i Just wish Madueke can be given game time and let him take-on Defenders and play those cut-back passes…

I think James could play the right center back . With gusto playing right back. Or even transition caicedo to a right back, however in transition he will the right pivot.
Chelsea has to move on from Enzo. Even at his best, there’s really little he can actually do to bring to this squad. A midfield duo of gallagher-caicedo, with james balancing the opposite site should work wonderfully. Cut your losses, and see what they can bring for him. Sesko should be the priority. He fits the squad agewise and stylistically. The one position i would break the bank for, would be a right footed LW. Dont know who would actually fit the mold though
