    Mathew Ryan is een jonge, Australische keeper met goede reflexen en een zeer precieze traptechniek. Ondanks zijn jonge leeftijd, kan hij buigen op drie jaar ervaring bij een eersteklasser, wat hem de nodige rust en uitstraling in doel geeft bij Club Brugge.

    Mathew Ryan werd geboren op 8 april 1992 in Plumpton. Hij startte zijn carrière bij Plumpton/Oakhurst SC vooraleer de stap te zetten naar de jeugdreeksen van Blacktown City. In 2010 maakte hij de overstap naar de Australische topclub Central Coast Mariners waar hij 3 jaar titularis was én tot twee maal toe als beste doelman in Australië werd verkozen. Ryan werd al tweemaal geselecteerd voor de Australische nationale ploeg waar hij aanzien wordt als een potentiële toekomstige nummer 1. Leuk detail: Ryan speelde met de Olympische ploeg van Australië onder leiding van ex-Clubspeler Paul Okon die niets dan lovende kritieken voor de doelman heeft.

      I have seen this video and that of Neto, both look class acts and LFC should act quickly to get either of these keepers and not start waiting for the summer when the big guns will come in and start pursuing them. If we can't get Neto now, at least sign a pre-contract with him then he comes in for free in the summer.

      To be fully honest as an lfc fan and as an aussie, i hope he doesnt move to england, if he moves to lfc he is at the top already, where as if he stays in belgium until the next world cup then i think he would be at the right age. We dont want another brad jones or langerak. Lack of game time has somewhat killed langeraks full potential, and this would be another waste of brilliant ability if he moves on!

      This lad has real talent and would definitely fit in but the big question is will Brendan even bother to sign him rather than be stuck with mignolet and Jones

      By the time Ryan is in his late 20's he will be the best in the world, we have seen him developing here in Australia since he was 15 and he just keeps getting better and better. His distribution from the back can win you games its that good not to mention the games he wins with the saves. Watch the high lights of the Asian cup saves he did, one of them is one of the best saves you will ever see.
