Veteran Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal says he “would love” to become the new manager at Manchester United.

Speaking at the start of a three-day World Cup training camp, the Dutchman said “I hope that I shall be the one. it’s the biggest club in the world and it’s a fantastic challenge.”

The 62-year-old has been the overwhelming favourite for the role since the dismissal of David Moyes on 22 April.

  1. More attitude and bite in 2 minutes than 10 months of David Robot Moyes.

I don't care if you "did your best" or you're a "good guy", Moyes. I still fucking hate you.

  2. I'm a Chelsea fan, but i really hope that a new manager for Man United will make the club as good as it used to be and compete with the top teams of England again!

One of my favorite 'Louis' quotes is; ' am i the-one that smart or are you that stupid? (not accepting ANY media crap)

  4. I like this guy already. He has balls and guts. He will scare the shit out of the guys and they will listen to him.

  5. I hear Robbie Fowler is going around saying that Van Gaal is too old and past it, etc etc. What utter shit, he's only 62, look what Ferguson achieved between age 62 and 71 and you only need to look at Van Gaal to see the energy and drive he still has. He'll be an excellent choice and great that he is also ready to work with Giggs, who can learn from him and be ready to step up when LVG does eventually retire.

  6. Gotta love van Gaal. He might be an ass towards the press, every player he ever worked with doesn't want to hear 1 negative word about van Gaal. He genuinely cares about the players and is one of few coaches who insists players should also receive guidance from a psychologist. For the fans he'll always make some time and without camera's or journalists around him, he's actually a very warm and friendly man.
