what about Kieran Trippier? He can play left back and then you could havewalker. At right back.
Rico Lewis can play there and gives a lot of options in other positions. I think Mitchell is also a shout.

Nope. This summers defensive selection should be all about flexibility and players that cover multiple positions…Trippier, even though he's a RB, is the best LB we have. Colwill, Walker, Gomez, Stones, Shaw, White (if he changes his mind), all players that can cover at least 2 positions..in some cases 3 or 4 positions.
The idea would be to minimise defensive selections to a max of 8 or 9, so we can take 14 midfielders/attackers…thats where our strength lies. We do not want to see 12 defenders Gareth, be warned!
