Why is everybody calling it an elbow from Lamptey when it's his shoulder that connects with Mudryk? Ref should have definitely had a look at it, that's on the VAR, but ultimately the unlucky contact made it look worse than it was. Just because Mudryk suffered a concussion doesn't automatically mean that there was violent conduct. You regularly have people injure themselves after completely fair tackles or even without anybody touching them at all. I don't believe for a second that Lamptey wanted to hurt Mudryk this badly, just block him and give him a slight knock like players do all the time.
If Mudryk hadn't put his head down a bit for the sprint it's just the chest and all we'd have is Lamptey using his body to block a run. Something that happens all the time.
Should have been a foul and likely a yellow but, unless somebody can show me footage of the supposed "elbowing", nowhere near a red imo.

Lamptey steps across Mudryk and he runs into his shoulder. Their is no elbow or swinging of an arm (which is by his side). Notice you're ignoring the stonewall penalty on Adingra. Bouanotte gets a toe on the ball too. As for Jackson, Verbruggen doesn't make any contact and he dives over the keeper.
We can’t sell Reece because of this! That’s the daftest thing I’ve heard. It was petulant especially from the captain, but I think he lashed out as he has just come back from injury and was taken out. He isn’t an old experienced player despite the age of the squad. He will learn and thankfully it didn’t cost Chelsea the win.

The Mudryk call may be the worst missed call I’ve ever seen in any football game. Especially when they go to VAR and give Reece his red (which he did deserve). Also on the Reece foul though, not giving him an excuse, he has just been out 5 months, on top of that injury bothering him before, and the guy makes an initial foul like that right around his injured leg?? He shouldn’t loose his cool, I agree, but I also can’t blame him for being rightfully pissed at the initial foul. You just can’t last out like that though
