Manchester City 5-1 Wolves – Premier League Review & Reaction

  1. Sorry, but some sloppy play gifted City goals today. Ok, a tough ask to turn them over again but this has been a feature of our play in too many games this season. Must do better if we are to thrive next season.😮

  2. So disappointing. I really thought we'd have a bit of a shout today, but we just got blown away. The only players to come out with some credit were Boubacar, Nelson and Joao. Lemina has not been the same since his father's death. Cunha was poor, but at least he didn't hide like Hwang. The gulf in class between the Premier title contenders and the midtable scappers were evident in this match and the Arsenal-Bournemouth fixture. There's a gulf there that shouldn't exist if we want the league to remain competitive. So many players today were poor for us and Hwang was invisible, as was Bellegarde when he came on.

  3. Almost back to full strength and just shows how far we are behind the big 8 nowhere near to competing with these teams with current squad. Unfortunately without dawson to hold our defenders hands we look clueless. Kilman not captain material

  4. I half agree on Semedo for the second goal. He has been one of our most consistent players this season and I don't think there's too much he could have done to stop the header, but they did exploit the biggest weakness in his game, which is his defensive positioning and awareness on cross field passes from the right. It's the main thing that has not improved in his overall game.

  5. After the first penalty…what ever plan went out of the window, However from a personal point of view ….i’m concerned about the last 9 games and the overall performances…. This must be eradicated for next season ….the occasional game yes…..but not a run of 4-5 a time. Big Job needed for the summer.

  6. Not too disheartened today in all honesty. City are an amazing team on the pitch and we can't take that away from them but we can talk about the blatant financial cheating over the last 15 years or so. The referee did everything but stick it into the net for them, lots of soft free kicks against us. Today was doomed from the second they got their first pen really. I don't really blame the lads for looking a bit deflated at times.

  7. Kind of expected the result but wasn’t pleased with the way the team played. Appeared to be on the beach. Pawson helped City, wasn’t a penalty, City were looking for it. Attwell (again) How this idiot is going to the Euro’s God only knows. Gave Harland so much room throughout the game. It just didn’t seem to sink in. Second pen no argument. Thanks for the report Dave.

  8. No way that's Nelson fult for second ,it bloody killman. He went to run with him then stopped. Killman was awfull yet again , then 3rd . He's behide him as he jumps, then in on goal Plz plz sell. He ball watches all game and is never behide the strike . Sell fast

  9. In reality a dubious 1st pen, never a pen, heads went down, no outlay going forward, chan especially in offside positions, as forwards they have to do better, sloppy play at times, take nothing away from city they are on fire, but the stats say it all 2 shots in 90 mins 1 goal not good enough at this level, Fosun needs serious investment in this team next season. We have done well with the squad we had, if we are to progress the Manager needs the backing next season

  10. The game of football is not fair & true.

Ref's, PGMOL, SKY TV, are controlling the results of our beautiful game !

How can Mike Dean be rewarded by SKY SPORTS, who have given him a throne to sit on … for admitting himself he has wrongly influenced the result of a game.

We can't enjoy football anymore. 🧡🖤

PS David, football should be renamed to VARBALL !

  11. 1st pen RAN harsh decision, 2nd pen no argument stupid challenge, wolves were never at it today poor passing and had a hand in all the city goals!
Good finish from Hwang but that was it.
Harland goes down far too easy for a big unit!

  12. Totally out classed ,yes was never a pen first one but would have made no diff to result ,city never got out of first gear ,good goal by wang but city are a class above every team in the league,

  13. I'd get rid of Kilman, Sarabia, Bellegarde, Doherty, Hugo Bueno, and any other deadwood. We can hopefully rebuild over the summer and strengthen the squad.

  14. Sorry Dave – you are usually correct in your analysis but to criticise Nélson Semedo for that Erling Haaland goal was ridiculous and inappropriate. Erling Haaland is leaping to a height that even Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn’t have matched and whatever Nélson Semedo did in that circumstance would have made zero difference – 99.9% of your analysis is correct – that’s the 0.1%.

  15. Don’t think it was our worst performance this season by far. Just got picked off to easy. Turned over the ball quite a lot just couldn’t do much with it Don’t think pep would have been happy with their performance tbf.

  16. We are the weaker team. We aren’t fighting for anything atm (maaaaaybe conference league).

It would’ve been better if we lost 7-3 and gave our forwards some more goals. Their confidence matters most because we’re obviously gutting out defense (if we can keep our forwards, unsure if someone will snatch them).
