Host Sina Sadrzadeh with panelists Sina Saemian, Daniel Kayal & Arya Allahverdi discuss Mehdi Taj returning as president of the Iran Football Federation having been elected ahead of Mirshad Majedi & Azizollah Mohammadi. Speculation has risen with the rumours of a potential return for Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Iran national team as Taj has said that it is something he would consider. We speak about the next friendlies for Team Melli who face Uruguay & Senegal in Austria on September 23rd & 27th, respectively.

Good to have you guys back.
Between Kamranifard Majedi and Taj there is only one big embezzling fraudster and everyone knows who the real criminal is a part from Arya apparently… 🤦🏻🤷🏻 You're talking crime after crime by an untouchable individual who is an ex IRGC somehow is today's people's favourite. از ماست که بر ماست 🤦🏻
Good job boys. Farzad (IFP)
Great show guys! I have a few perhaps unpopular takes on a few of our players. I'm sorry but Jahanbaksh is our most overrated player. He lacks dribbling skills and tends to take prayer long shots from deep. He doesn't make the right passes often. I know he scores goals in qualifying i.e syria, Lebanon but I have yet to see him play really well vs quality teams. I think Ezatollahi is our most underrated player…he has the best vision of all our players. He surveys the field and makes the right pass with precision. My concern with him and the team as a whole, especially in the middle of the field, is that we lack pace. I mean even the US has a very young and fast midfield. I have a feeling we will be on our heels heavily, as we always are against quality teams. I don't think this WC will be any different. We will be playing defense 75%..then relying on long balls in hoping our forwards can do something…I just can't see too much build up play going on.
Are the 2 friendlies actually confirmed?
I like to make a couple comments on the subjects of Mehdi Taj and Carlos Queiroz.
Mehdi Taj: like anyone else in that country in order to have a leadership position, you have to be part of the inner circle and we have to accept that. So with that context, we can at least agree that we did not see any sign of leadership from Majedi , nor Estili. Look at the disarray we are witnessing. This is the World Cup and we better have a good prep and know what we are doing. I do not think Estili and Majedi have the credentials and experience to be in those positions. But, I think Taj’s wildcard is Carlos Queiroz. Mehdi Taj cannot do it by himself, he could not and cannot succeed without Queiroz.
Carlos Queiroz: yes in general I agree that with little over 2 months to the start of the World Cup a coaching change is a sign of disaster. But in this case there are specific elements which at least do not make things worse. CQ has seeded the DNA of this team. The team under CQ built its on character, full of team chemistry, DISCIPLINE, and a nice gradual progress for 8 years. The skeleton of the team is intact. He knows the players, and it is only a continuation. Yes Skocic had a good run, but we really have to take the level of opponents between these coaches into consideration. And I dare to say that tactically against our opponents in the World Cup I find CQ the most qualified, having coached in UK and USA. And Iran! I do not see us losing anything or getting worse by bringing Carlos Quiroz to lead us in this World Cup. His stature and presence elevates Iran’s presence, and the respect others will have for us.
Unrelated to the video, but does anyone know what Taremi's celebration is about (the wipe on his face)?
Irans stock has lowered with each passing week since qualifying. Changing coaches this close to the World Cup isn’t a great idea BUT considering the circumstances of Team Melli, and Quierozs experience with these players, our stock worth would be higher with him at the helm.
amazing episode and covered all the points. thanks guys
