    Mathew Ryan, de Australische held van Brugge. In korte tijd uitgegroeid van beloftevolle doelman tot onmisbaar sluitstuk en opvolger van legendarische voorgangers bij zowel Club als land. Met sterke reflexen en uitstekend voetenspel zorgt hij voor de nodige rust en uitstraling in doel bij Blauw-Zwart.

    Mathew Ryan werd geboren op 8 april 1992 in Plumpton. Hij startte zijn carrière bij Plumpton/Oakhurst SC vooraleer de stap te zetten naar de jeugdreeksen van Blacktown City. In 2010 maakte hij de overstap naar de Australische topclub Central Coast Mariners waar hij 3 jaar titularis was én tot twee maal toe als beste doelman in Australië werd verkozen. Ondertussen veroverde Maty ook zijn vaste stek in de nationale ploeg, waarmee hij in 2014 3 wedstrijden op het WK in Brazilië afwerkte. Een ervaring die hem sterkt in zijn groeiproces. Maty is nu al een publiekslieveling en is langzaam maar zeker op weg zijn naam te schrijven in de geschiedenisboeken van Club Brugge.

      Machtige video ! 1 van de beste keepers sinds ik ben gaan kijken zo'n 10 jaar geleden.. Ryan is a brugesboy en hopelijk blijft hij nog héél lang !!

      Well done. Very well edited video, but please avoid using lens flares!!! Don't forget that people want to see the player's best moments; not just pretty colours and shit. You didn't do it much there but I'm just warning you for the future before you make videos like most other highlight videos, which are mostly just hard to see what's happening. Congratulations once again on such a quality video though 🙂

      Ryan: "It's nice to read in the newspapers that sides like Liverpool are looking at you. I am happy at Club Brugge, but obviously I want to prove myself. It would be great to take another step forward in my career."

      He's very good (wrecking the Asian Cup right now) and wants to come. Massive upgrade on Bignolet. Let's get him in.
