He's not too quick but he times his tackles well. He's good in the air, pretty solid at the back and is capable of sending long balls. If you watch him play, some of the goals are created or started off from his pass. Lastly, although he's a centre back, he join the attack quite often and scores one in a while with his head from set pieces. He's very good at scoring last minute goals and has done so many times for Japan. Bright lad.
