Danny Ward | Saves + Passing | Wales | EURO 2016

22 year old goalkeeper Danny Ward is one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the premier league. Before making two appearances at the end of the 2015/2016 season, he enjoyed an incredible spell at Scottish club Aberdeen before earning himself a return to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool squad. He narrowly missed out on a Europa League winners medal after being on the bench for the final against Sevilla in Basel. A product of Wrexham’s academy, he has appeared for Wales at under 19 and under 21 level before making his debut for the senior team as a second half substitute against Northern Ireland in a friendly this year. He will be going to the Euros this summer as third choice however injuries to goalkeepers are not uncommon, and if Wales find themselves through to the knockout round with a game to spare, first choice goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy could be rested and Danny Ward could find himself playing at Euro 2016 with a Wales team that has the potential to go far in the tournament with the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Sam Vokes.
