Here are some forgotten, or just overlooked, stats on Eriksen:
Made 50 assists in 113 Eredivisie games for Ajax, aged 17 to 21. Massive. Could have gone to any club in the world when he went to Spurs at 21 in 2013.
Had an insane streak with 15 goals in 15 internationals for Denmark from June '16 through to November '17.
Has scored more international goals (39) than legendary players like Alan Shearer, Roberto Baggio, Filippo Inzaghi, (equals Fernando Torres), Karim Benzema, Hernan Crespo, Diego Maradona, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Dennis Bergkamp. You might have noticed than the only other midfielder in the bunch is arguably the best player of all time. You might also have noticed, that all of these players played for better and more dominant nations by default, making Eriksen's numbers even more impressive.
He has also just now surpassed the two best attacking players in Danish football history, Michael Laudrup (37) and Preben Elkjær (38). Both were, for those lacking historical knowledge, on more than on occasion placed in the Ballon D'Or top-5 in their day.
