  1. Lol guys, people using Lukaku as a scapegoat. Belgium absolutely sucked this world cup. Didn't show anything for 3 matches, and you're going to blame a player that played 30 mins this whole tournament? Get out… They were bad, they lost cause they sucked as team, and now they're out. It seems easy to blame Lukaku cause he missed a clear chance, but it's just delusional if you focus on that cause that's ignoring the much bigger problems with this whole squad.

  2. Hearme out: belgium was in their peak in 2018 with the best players in the world as they were destined to win the world cup, but than somehow in the SF against france god had different plans as france scored on a corner and Belgium bottled it. They were destined to win that wc so they were destined to go out in the group on this one (the curse)

  3. Lukaku is a D-class striker.
Totally immobile is his No. 1 deficiency plus many others.
Why not bring Origi to Qatar ?

  4. This game was frustrating to watch. Belgium as a team don’t have a cohesion. De Bruyne was not utilized as playmaker. Every player on that field wanted to be a star on their own. It was frustrating to see how often the playmakers were overlooked.

  5. Lukaku has never proven to be reliable in his career apart from a one off season with Inter. It still baffles me that managers still rate him. Yes he did have one ridiculously good match against Brazil back in the 2018 World cup, but 4 years ago is an eon in footballing timescale.

The good thing is that at least he's done and dusted at age 29 to prevent anymore clubs from wasting their precious resources on him. What he suffers from is the Freddy Adu syndrome where from age 16, he was touted as this wonder kid, the future Drogba or Super Drogba and the fact that Chelsea went on to poach him as the one to one future replacement actually cemented that potential legacy and expectation.

He never really grew into the man that he should be, one that carries the team on his shoulders but rather his behavior and mentality was that of a child. No matter how much money was thrown at him, he seems to be very sensitive to peoples' opinions in particular the media and the fans about him and he gauged his confidence levels on other's opinions. Unlike players like Drogba or CR7, he lacked that champion's attitude of knowing deep down they are the predator in front of goal, and that shows in his career.

Don't get me wrong. I think Lukaku has so many impressive attributes. He is powerful, imposing, clinical at times and has good technique. It is his attitude and his mentality that has seen him fall far short of his potential to be a legend which now he can no longer become
