Of course not!!we need à proper left back who could overlap as well as defend so Martinelli doesn't have to track back as mùch n collect the ball in his own half;similar to Ben White n Saka. Martinelli needs help!!🤷♂️
He’s a striker by trade he’s got no Tek on that left side
He needs help, Saka has white overlapping & inverting, he also benefits from Ødegaard playing mostly down his flank. Martinelli gets doubled up on without any real help and so his game is stifled, which wasn't the case when Xhaka played for the club…
I think Martinelli has suffered the most from all the changes this season. The constant changes on the left side of the pitch, lack of cohesion on that side for long spells of the season. Xhaka was a big reason for his blow up last year and we haven’t replaced a lot of what xhaka did for him last year. We opt’d to do something a bit different, and while that has made the team better he’s suffered more so than others.
Martinelli has scored some of our biggest goals of the season
1. City
2. Liverpool
3. Sevilla away
Hope he gets back in form
Personally I feel it’s a mixture of everything
Martineli is not the same as Saka
But he has a huge ceiling still but relationships are an issue for him losing xhaka no real consistent left back for him .
I also feel he could improve himself maybe cutting inside more maybe being selfish like looking at trossard when he sees he has a chance to shoot he takes it
But he can do the winger quite well as for striker he will need to improve a lot before I like to see it tbh
But I do like the attitude of martineli
i still think hes a striker not a touchline winger thats my view
Nelli needs help on that left wing; he’s still class. However I think that we need a two sided wing that can compete with both Saka and Gabri. Dream transfer – Rodrygo or Xavi Simmons. Otherwise we need a healthy timber and a World class left 8 to build that left side wing.
he's been missing this season. he needs to step up during this period. there's something there..he's gotta show it. Big up bro!
Gabriel Martinelli is the victim of not having a Ben White on his flank. What percentage of possession goes through our right wing because of White and Saka?

I think Martinelli needs a free role. He lacks guile. If he had a left sided 8 taking the fullbacks attention away, or an overlapping fullback he would have a decoy. At the moment they stand him up and he's unable to distract them so he resorts to his pace. I'd personally give Martinelli freedom. He's an intuitive rhythm player. He needs to feel he can do what he feels in the moment. Maybe he could be more free to roam from flank to flank and swap with the left 8 AMF at times? Ideally I'd see him as a second striker in a two pronged attack, but we don't play two strikers. Martinelli in that horse shoe shape should be allowed to buzz around the attack and use the freedom to his advantage
Martinelli usually has two options pass back or try beating his man
Should be a Super Sub if you ask me. Trossard starts for me.
