Manchester City have signed Dutch defender Nathan Ake from Bournemouth for a price of around £40m! The versatile centre-back has become Pep Guardiola’s latest signing ahead of the 2020/21 season. The former Chelsea, Reading, Watford and Bournemouth defender will challenge Laporte for the left centre-back spot, while no doubt providing depth in the left-back role.

  1. I can’t wait to see the back of otamendi, guy reminds me of when we had Richard dunne and you’d close your eyes every time the ball was near him 😂

  2. The aerial duels stat isn't going to mean that much in the end. How often do city concede to a high cross? The biggest issue for city is defensive errors and lack of pace and he checks off both boxes.

  3. I'm glad he got picked up by a big club. He worked hard for Bournemouth and was one of the players that stood out for them. I remember one game, the one against Spurs, near the end of the 2019 season, when Bournemouth had to get one more goal to win the match. They struggled all second half to get that goal but kept failing. Ake kept trying, never gave up, and ended up scoring the wiinning goal. That game stood out for me and I never forgot how Ake kept persisting.

  4. Ake, Torres, and talk of Koulibaly too? What about FFP Ste? I get winning things is always great for fans but deep down does it hurt a little bit supporting a club who has just bought it's success?

  5. Excellent squad player, but who is going to play with Laporte? No news yet on a decent left back? Any rumours on a new striker, Aguero looking old and injury prone? Also, need another slow midfielder, to go with Gundogun, Rodri and Fernandinho? Only another £150-200m needed!
