Injuries stopped Nadal from winning more majors..He missed more Grand Slams than Federer and Djokovic combined..If he were as fit as Djokovic and Federer he would have won close to 30 slams in his career…

Great match. Rafa was aware that a possible long battle was on the horizon, he spoke about that in previous conferences/interview. Cachin is a veteran of clay courts with a great spirit and well-rounded strokes, no surprise in watching him fight like this. What is surprising is Rafa's mentality, finding the courage and strength to keep grinding at this age, with his body and under such pressure. Grateful of being able to watch this live.
A career once in doubt in 2008 is still fighting in 2024…… I hope god give him strenght just to take that one last step at french open…..❤

He was like maybe 60% in this match & we could see that the forehand is still in the "getting there" stage. Wish he comes to peak level soon and gives the youngsters (Alcaraz, Sinner) a real fight! If he wins Roland Garros one more time, it will simply be UNBELIEVABLE!! Vamos Rafa!
Viewers are lucky. In France on Eurosport the commentators only talk during the exchanges, it's hellish. From the start to the end of the match they talk without saying anything. Even during exchanges. We wonder if they are watching the match. There I see that the journalists respect Tennis.

Some of Nadal's shots are seriously impressive…. getting quite close to when he was in full form. There are obviously other aspects of his playing that haven't fully recovered (e.g. serve, movement), but even they are surprisingly good considering how long he's been plagued by injuries. Imagine if he won Roland Garros again….
