Liverpool’s Ratings: Darwin Nunez, Virgil van Dijk, Salah & Others Shocking Against Everton.

Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes were effectively dashed in a dismal defeat to local rivals Everton. The Reds conceded goals in each half, resulting in a 2-0 loss at Goodison Park. They now sit three points behind leaders Arsenal and just one point ahead of Manchester City, who have two games in hand.

Alisson Becker: 7
Made a good save from a close-range effort by Calvert-Lewin and was unlucky to concede the opening goal. Stopped a McNeil attempt in the second half and could do little about the second goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 5
Attempted too many ambitious passes before halftime but tried to ignite Liverpool’s attack. Continued with similar performance in the second half but was at fault for the second goal. Substituted.

Ibrahima Konate: 3
Had a nightmare first half, struggling against Calvert-Lewin and inadvertently assisting Everton’s opener. Immediately lost possession at the start of the second half. Substituted.

Virgil van Dijk: 6
Made some good defensive headers and clearances while Everton won soft free-kicks in the first half. Spent much of the second half pushing forward. Received a yellow card.

Andy Robertson: 6
Showed willingness to run down the left flank in both attack and defense, being one of Liverpool’s most energetic players. Had a shot saved by Pickford before halftime and posed an attacking threat in the second half. Substituted.

Alexis Mac Allister: 5
Played as the number six, occasionally caught out defensively and became frustrated with his passing accuracy. Showed effort but received a yellow card.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 3
Aside from one powerful run into the box, the midfielder had a disastrous first half and showed little improvement afterward. Substituted.

Curtis Jones: 5
Displayed a couple of promising moments in possession and wasn’t hesitant to get stuck in, but continued to encounter difficulties after halftime. Substituted.

Mohamed Salah: 5
Managed to create one chance for Nunez but was largely peripheral out wide, proving more threatening when cutting inside. Sent an effort over the bar just before halftime, and his performance fluctuated in the second half.

Darwin Nunez: 4
Continuously made himself available for the ball but was let down by some poor control and missed a crucial chance to equalize with a shot at Pickford. Became less effective as the game progressed.

Luis Diaz: 7
Produced a couple of strong runs at both ends of the first half, had a chance saved by Pickford, and became increasingly influential after halftime, particularly with a shot that hit the inside of the post. Received a yellow card.

Harvey Elliott (replaced Jones at 63′): 5
Failed to provide his usual energetic spark this time around.

Wataru Endo (replaced Szoboszlai at 63′): 6
Started to win headers against Calvert-Lewin.

Jarell Quansah (replaced Konate at 63′): 6
Showed much more composure than the player he replaced.

Joe Gomez (replaced Alexander-Arnold at 84′)
An interesting substitution.

Kostas Tsimikas (replaced Robertson at 84′)
A similarly intriguing replacement.
