I was puzzled as to why we bought him and where/how he would fit into a midfield with Bruno. As we near the end of the season I still don't see how/where we fit him into midfield.
With clear evidence that Casemiro's legs have gone, we desperately need defensive midfield to protect a defence that lacks pace, I just don't see Mount in that role.
Hopefully he gets fit and Thomas Tuchel can get the best out of him next season!

So many forgotten players this season…Martínez, shaw, malacia, mount, erikson. That coupled with the huge drop offs from rashford and casemiro has made for a painful season.

I definitely haven't and won't write off Mason Mount. He's an excellent player.
I will, however, be quite sour over his transfer price being what it was with a year left on his terms and then basically not playing for a season.
MATHS: Mount cost £55m with a possibility of rising to £60m, but we'll use the £55m number. He is paid £13m in salary per season over the course of a 5-year contract. If we divide his fee for the course of the contract and add his annual wage, he cost United £24m THIS SEASON. At 16 appearances, he cost £1.5m per, and with 662 minutes played, he has cost over £36k per minute.
Still, it's not Mount who should get stick for that: it's the executives who green-lit the transfer. Even if he was injured in his first season at United, cutting all of those numbers in half because he was signed on a free would be monumental.
More wasted money by the idiots running the club. Why buy a player who plays in the same position as your captain. He can't play deeper as we have seen and is too slow to play wide . Missed nearly all of last season injured so utd waste 55 mill on a bloke who would have been free this summer oh and he's been injured again what a shock.
