MORE ROTATION? | Liverpool team prediction vs Everton

Liverpool travel to Everton on Wednesday knowing they need three points to keep their slim hopes of winning the Premier League title alive.

And, while Jurgen Klopp has never suffered defeat at Goodison Park, he has also only won there twice in seven attempts during his time in charge of the Reds.

That statistic, plus the fact the German has an improved squad to choose from thanks to a number of recent returns, marks this one out as particularly tricky team selection.

Liverpool reporter David Lynch has had a go, and believes there could be a number of big calls to make in defence, midfield and attack.

That includes a decision on Wataru Endo’s starting spot, and a perhaps controversial choice regarding in-form Cody Gakpo.

Check out David’s team in this video and make sure to leave your own in the comments.

  1. Would not start Dom, but Klopp will pick him over Elliot. He needs to show his football brain. Also Gakpo deserves to start with Jota and Salah, bring on Diaz later with Nunez.

  2. I don't see any absolute reason as to why we wouldn't use the same lineup again! It worked. Let's keep it that way, i reckon that won't happen cause of klopp, so i hope we dont pay for it

  3. I would start with the same 11 that started at Fulham. Trent & Robbo made a huge difference, Sobo is way off form as is Salah so bench for them. Big win is wanted but any win will suffice. Hope you had a good week off David.

  4. Jones has been diabolical since he came back and all the reasons you gave for picking him are exactly the areas he has been woeful in – passing accuracy, retaining possession and blocking/tackling. He simply does not deserve a place …

  5. Xabier Alonso rejected Liverpool to stay at Bayer Leverkusen which is totally understandable.
Now in a few hours it will be confirmed that Rúben Amorim will takeover
    West Ham United..
Whoever is dealing with & appointing a new Liverpool manager seriously need to get there fingers out

  6. I no longer trust these players to get the job done. Since the last International break, they have shown me that they bottlers when the pressure is on and when it matters most. Edwards will have a job this summer if LFC are to get back to the top. I love Klopp but too many of his recent buys are too inconsistent or not good at this level. Gakpo, Diaz, Nunez, Sozbo, Gravenberch, Endo.Carvalho. We have gone from a quad 4 weeks ago to a title-winning long shot. These guys can't handle pressure so it wouldn't surprise me if we lost or drew against Everton I don't see us winning all our remaining games either. We need a miracle now.

  7. Welcome back David
Great starting 11 against Fulham !!
I agree with most of what u say except for attack every game salah plays I think he's going down in price (hoping we sell him in the summer he's played fabulous 4 us but time to go)
I'm a massive fan of nunez but is it 42 goal attempts but only 7 gone in is a worry an yes he's assisted a few but ????

  8. I do feel that people are being way too harsh on Salah and Nunez. Even szobo has caught a lot of flack. They are just going through a rough patch, majority of the season they have been very good. Get behind the lads

  9. I understand that it is necessary to consider the opposition when selecting a team but the rationale for your choices seems to be too much influenced by the alleged strengths of Everton. This is almost the tail wagging the dog, a case in point being Szoboszai preferred over Elliott as he's taller. We must not lower our ambition to the level of Everton, every team has strengths but we must play to ours and not get too hung up on theirs.
In terms of the actual team that you chose, who knows, it's as good as any other, so why not?

  10. Not sure I see Klopp starting gravenberch in this one. Jota has to start up front, Salah will too given he was rested at the weekend. Although his form is poor. I think Nunez will start as he is a handful physically. Gakpo has been in good form and I think should start. I think he might play him as an 8, with Dom and mac the other 2 in midfield. so Curtis might miss out.

  11. Mate that’s his job to play Football. I remember in the 80s when Liverpool only used 14 / 15 players for the season. They played just as many games then as they do now. Plus the pitches then was a lot worse.
So I really don’t understand people saying they need to rest as they are professional athletes.
