I think that the truth is that most international teams preparation for this tournament are a real mess. The Argentinian football authorities recently made a request of English Premier League teams to rest their Argentinian players up to the World Cup ! Best of luck with that. Some England- based players have league game to play on the weekend just a few days before representing their respective countries. All the normal squad building, training camps, and fitness regimes in place before the World Cup tournament have just not happened. It’s far from ideal.
