Pape Gueye | Skills and Goals | Highlights

Pape Gueye (fr. Pape Gueye, born January 24, 1999, Montreuil) is a French footballer of Senegalese descent, midfielder of the Marseille club.

Born January 24, 1999 in Montreuil. Pupil of youth teams of football clubs “Blanc-Menil” and “Le Havre”. In 2016, he began playing for the club’s reserve team in the French amateur championship. He made his professional football debut for Le Havre in the Ligue 2 match against Niort (0-0) on 5 May 2017 and made 35 appearances in the French second division in three seasons.

On April 29, 2020, it was announced that Gué had signed a preliminary contract with English Watford and would move to the club after the expiration of the contract with Le Havre on July 1, 2020. However, soon the footballer had a conflict with his agent Bakary Sanogo, which ended in a break in cooperation. The new representative of the football player, lawyer Pierre-Anris Bovis, quickly managed to find controversial points in the previously concluded agreement, thanks to which the player insisted on a waiver, after which he successfully negotiated with Marseille on a contract for four seasons. The English club did not agree with such actions of the French club and filed a suit with FIFA against Marseille.

On 1 July 2020, Gue joined Marseille and made his debut for the team in Ligue 1 on 30 August 2020 in an away game against Brest (3: 2). As of January 24, 2021, he played 17 matches for the Marseille team in the national championship.
