Alan Blair and Oli Davies visit the most famous carp lake on planet earth, Redmire Pool. Etched into the history books for the length of time, this awe-inspiring, record-breaking and truly remarkable pond has been making anglers dreams come true since the dawn of carp fishing. In this film you’ll see the Nash duo tackle the notoriously difficult pond with 48 hours to catch a carp. The venue has undergone a huge amount of work in order to return it to its former glory and one man that has seen and orchestrated almost every stage of Redmire’s progression, is Les Bamford. We felt it was only right that he joins in on the fun, detailing some interesting facts about the estate. Filming at the pool has always been a rarity and we’re delighted to have had the chance to do so, and it’s a film we know you’re going to enjoy. After all, who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia?

Good to see you are well les 👍 haven't seen you in about 15 years 😀
Grate to see les what a legend. Hope you're doing well my friend. I love the way you can still see the love and passion les still holds for such a iconic place . I have to say some people will be a tad horrible due to the length and because they have to pay . I was one of those until I spoke with Elliott filming costs money and to do it for free don't make sense so a small charge is OK as it helps make epic content like this .
Good film but there are way more than 46 Carp in there as they have already bred. Either way the fish have done really well since the work was done with at least 2 already going over 30, the future looks bright.
only a carp fisherman would turn up to a carp lake and not fish it cos the other guy had rods out and couldn't "see" much lmao
somebody is telling porkys ,the little ghosty is still in there ,when it was said to have been removed during the clean up ?
Can't really charge for something that others can just go and do themselves. We can't fight in vegas or play in the champions league final., hence paying out to watch in person. Also, so many fishing channels out there that are rather decent. Think about this one chaps x
Redmire has made Carp legends to Richard Walker & Chris Yates, who next ? 👍🏻🎣
Just watched the full length film. Great stuff. Lucky you got Les on there to save it.
@cypography completely understand why you have to charge for videos as they cost to make. but it would be great if you did one off charges for particular videos rather then just subscriptions 🙂 just a thought
Lovely film but PLEASE stop putting those like/subscribe graphics up every minute. We’ve all used YouTube for years and know what to do without the distraction…
Wanted to fish it for 43years dreamed as a kid fishing it
Great film , wonderful place . See you in Feb Les.
Hi, If I subscribe to yourselves can I get the full film on YouTube on my smart TV?
Thanks.
Very disappointed, expected to see the whole film. Why weren't we told that this was just a trailer right at the beginning?
Not into this format at all i was sick & tired of the pop-up like & subscribe box coming up on the screen every 2 mins.
It wa svery interesting what Les had to say & as always what Alan & Oli were up to but not having them both together, two seperate video's would have been much better.
Is there a part two? because Les Had only told half a story & Oli hadn't even wet a line !
Where’s the rest of the film
Did you catch
Crap
Place of dreams 😉
??? there’s 15 minutes i’ll never get back😐,no disrespect
Great voices overs.
Yes Redmire is a legend that I only read and dreamed about then saw on tV with the fantastic PASSION FOR ANGLING SERIES but Clarrisa was a one off at 44 pounds in that era. It changes with years and obviously the heaviest carp has eclipsed Clarissa by more than a few pounds and is a massive 60 / 70 pounds now. GREEDY SODS ARNT THEY? Anyway shame on you Richard Walker for putting Clarissa in a tank for the last years of her life
" I want to make sure I am fishing on fish" the lake is tiny. Really tiny. Iconic? Absolutely, but that load of rubbish. You could probably cast further than the lake is long.
I'm gutted clicked on watch for free at the end of the video to be welcomed with payment and subscription nevermind support atleast I got to see the lake 😪
They say you should never meet your heros. I grew up reading about redmire and watching a passion for angling etc and was lucky enough to fish redmire about 15 years or so ago. I have to say I left a little disappointed by the place, tiny little pond and at the time there were a lot of little baby carp. There was also something a little bit suspect about the booking system back then in my opinion and I have no desire at all to go back.
I don’t think you full timers realise how lucky you are
Redmire is a distant memory , nothing like it was back then , it’s just a small pond now with a few nice pasties in
Head torch helmet
Dose Oli ever fucking smile
What is the hat Alan has on at the start, the cap with ears? Great video guys!❤️
i wenr 2 years ago met les wot a gem love 2 go back
I have really enjoyed reading about the exploits of anglers there in the early days of carp fishing (up until the early 1990s), but I have no desire to ever fish there. Redmire still looks beautiful, but it has been almost completely demystified in recent decades, as happens with all small waters when subjected to intense fishing pressure with modern methods.
If I was the owner (and didn't need the money), I would be tempted to rest the place from all angling for at least a decade, while keeping a close eye on water quality and looking after the place. With a reduced head of fish, the remaining carp could be left in peace to grow on and the place would have a bit of mystery and wildness again. Then I would allow limited fishing with a restriction on times, more traditional methods and baits, to make it more of a challenge.
Of course, we don't live in an ideal world and money dictates things.
You should only be able to use old school methods/traditional baits to catch the fish from that pool
