It’s two friendlies at a point in the season where they’re not needed, in a season players are constantly getting injured. Players aren’t gonna play to their best and aren’t gonna go in for those 50/50 challenges. I’m not a fan of Southgate but these games shouldn’t be used to as evidence to sack him. They shouldn’t have happened at all

@ Rory Jennings: I 💯% agree. This manager hasn' t got the bravery to put the right players into the right positions and let those play, who are completley out of shape. Maybe the best squad England ever had – but nearly every performance looks uninspiring and lackluster. I repeat, I can't see those two holding midfielders anymore…🤬, either Maguire as central defender, who always looks like an accident waiting to happen. Why not playing Foden in midfield, next to Bellingham and Rice, to get the best out of him? He is someone who is best placed in central positions, within the small pockets. None of the big nations plays with two holding midfielders – the others have to scare them, that is how good they are. Southgate is a coward, England will not win any silverware as long as this coach stands next to the line.

Rory, you’re right. Southgate is an inconsequential man……….but what does that make you 😂😂😂 you’re arguably worse than southgate in your “professional” field.
Rory and co base their views on a fundamental fallacy; that the England squad are head and shoulders above the rest of the world. Kane/Bellingham/Saka would get in any squad in the world. Walker/Rice/Stones/Foden are decent players but made to look better than they are by the players around them at their clubs. The rest of the squad are very average (if not outright liabilities) by top international standards. We are one of a pack of teams including Germany/the Netherlands/Spain/Portugal that could win the Euros if France slip up and we get lucky but going out in the quarterfinals wouldn't be a huge underachievement

I'll explain it to you: appart from Bellingham and Kane who are real universal wc players, all those other english players look better than they really are because they play mostly IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY, in front of their own people, in their comfortable zone in the Premier League. Just look at some of your "brilliant players" from Arsenal in the Champions League. They are in no way better than some of those Porto FC guys that you probably dont even know the names.
This is the same mistake you commit since ever. You watch your player from your local teams, they look great and you think they are better than others from big clubs of La Liga, Serie A, etc.
