I hope Fiorentina advances for 2 reasons:
– Having the previous year's runner ups being in another final would be a nice story on its own, a revenge tale
– As an Italian, I root for them to make it at least to the semi-finals so that the UEFA coefficient would guarantee another Champions League spot next season
However, I would also like if neither Aston Villa/Lille nor Fiorentina reach the final because it would be good for the competition to have a team from outside the Top 5 Leagues winning it
Anything but winning the Conference League would be embarrassing for Aston Villa, considering their squad value is more than double that of the next highest club.
Aston Villa could put a serious investment if they win the Conference League. Serie A, Premier League and Bundesliga are competing to get an extra Champions League spot, and if Villa manages to win this competition, they could seriously help out the PL into gettng that spot. Which means they'd reach the Champions League even if they finish 5th
