James Maddison was fortunate not to be sent off during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest after VAR ignored his punch on Ryan Yates. At the time of the incident, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest were drawing 1-1 going into half time, and James Maddison receiving a red card could very well have changed the outcome of the game. This video showcases the punch Ryan Yates took while also discussing the potential repercussions of James Maddison’s actions on the Premier League as a whole.

Do you agree with my point about Roy Keane and Sky Sports? Let me know.
PS: I want whatever these chaps are smoking over in the VAR room.
I give up with the premier league, you can keep your shitty 6 horse race and shove it. Last straw is physically assaulting our players with ZERO repercussions. Never watching this farce of a league again. I will never watch another game until the government steps in and starts breaking up this monopoly and holding these officiate goons who clearly do nothing but protect top six clubs to accountability.
Spot on again mate, always talk the truth
I know fellow fans that want to go back to the championship 🤮
I would love to know exactly how many points ref or var decisions have cost or gave every team.
I know red cards and pens don't guarantee anything, but it's a huge advantage.
That's the problem. These decisions are glossed over because no actual goal is scored, which is just wrong, goals that stand or shouldn't get much more of a in depth look.
Not only that but the speed in which some are passed or the amount of times and angles shown differ even in the same game. I think Bournemouth game is a good example…..a guy looking for a peno gets multiple angles and multiple minutes scrutiny.
Our more blatant peno is shown twice and waved away quicker than should be when it's much more obvious.
Then refs not knowing the rules. Its a corrupt farce.
Derby looking forward to next season
Looks worse after you sped up the video. Nice work
Disgusting decision,
Mate, you got this stuff sorted
Agree, that saying someone who has been punched on a football pitch needs to toughen up is ludicrous. What message does it send to kids and can you imagine what refs of the lower unprofessional leagues have to deal with.
Yates is a windup merchant and that’s all he has to offer, but Maddison should have been able to deal with it, he’ll get sent off in the Euros if he does it again and he’s just shown the other European sides how he reacts to being wound up! But rarely do footballers think ahead.
Roy has become a parody of himself. I think he was a great player and he’s one of the better pundits but he likes to make a point by exaggerating like the Haaland comment and league 2. Haaland is no Messi or Ronaldo, but he does what Pep wants. Fuck who wouldn’t want Haaland in their side.
Sky pundits are pretty lazy, especially if you listen to Gary and Jamie. They were both talking fans reps on one of their programs (name escapes me) and criticised Forest and Everton but went on to say they didn’t know enough about the history or club situations, so the question has to be well why comment if your ignorant of the facts.
Just proves Sky is all about the big 6. Shite journalism.
⚽
VAR in England is NOT about drawing the referee's attention to a clear and obvious error. It is about protecting the PGMOL and their "cash cow" jobs.
⚽
Sadly, I agree that Roy Keane is still obsessed with his tough-guy image, at the cost of reasonable and balanced analysis. I also agree that many of the mainstream sports shows are about entertainment rather than football – – ironically, that makes them boring af, and I prefer small football channels, such as Uti's.
If an Everton player did that to a Man City player you know it’s going to var a penalty and a red card for sure ✔️another great video calling out the corruption
Sheffield united had 2 far worse not called. I’m a forest fan and there is at least a call for some retroactive reds for them if not us.
Ryan Yates had it coming, cry about it. 😂😂😂😂😂
It's all rigged and Sky are Involved. I mean Liverpool should be 10 pnts clear. I know you won't talk about that bn a utd fan. But it's all rigged
VAR, EPL, absolute f….ing joke! How could a punch to the stomach be missed on the video? It’s as clear as day. WTF is going on? I agree with you totally on this one.
It's nothing but protecting of the top 6 yet again the Premier league wants newly promoted teams to get relegated that's why 95% go down in 2 seasons. It needs a massive change how much are these are on the back pay
VAR is there to protect the top 6
I didn’t see any blatant punche on yates. Anyone have a clear view of it ?
spot on mate
It’s not a punch 🥊
If that’s a punch Yates is the softest bloke in the league.
Totally agree, thanks for your analysis. Ref decisions are so unpredictable this season, it feels like they are making it their own rule book.
Uti, you are 1000% spot on in your analysis of this situation. Your take 1000% reflects how I felt after yesterdays match… including your view on Roy Keane's opinion which I feel is totally flawed in this case. Raise your hand to an oponent and particularly if said hand is in the shape of a clenched fist and it's a red card, plain & simple, no exceptions and once again Forest get fuc**d by VAR. What's the point of VAR if it doesn't fix onfield referee errors? This business of VAR being 'allowed' to only look at certain things is bollo**s… the technology should be ALWAYS used to make sure decisions are correct and importantly consistently applied across games & all clubs equally. Otherwise get rid because as it stands it's a fuc**ng joke.
