Red Bull Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch joins Taylor Twellman on “Banter” to discuss how his former player, Takumi Minamino, is faring after his move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Marsch highlights the Japanese midfielder’s skill set, and says it won’t be long before he is playing a more integral role alongside teammates Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson. Marsch also recalls how it felt to become the first American to manage in the UEFA Champions League.

  1. It takes time for players to acclimate under Klopp. Look at Fabinho, Keita, Robertson, etc. Minamino will be ready to go after having a preseason under Klopp I think. Depending on what happens to the current season, if all the games are played, Taki will get a lot of playing time too since LFC are so many points ahead. I’m excited to see him on the field more!

  2. The USMNT and Federation needs Marsch now more than ever. Not because Berhalter is inept but for two reasons 1) He’s a phenomenal man manager who can consistently get the best of his players. 2) His tactical knowledge and ability to change on the fly are so much more adept than Berhalters. When Ber’s system isn’t working it seems like he continues to force the issue, but Marsch acknowledges those tactical hurdles he comes against and makes the necessary changes IN GAME.

  3. Minamino need that the time .. same like Keita,Fabinho, and Robertson, now he will have full pre season and lallana and shaq is going out so more spot will open in the mid for him next year.. al seem to be looking good for next year
