As a National coach, you have the pick of the litter; anywhere you see a weakness in your team, you have a nation to select from. You have players for 2 months at the most, and most players are happy to come to their national teams. When you have a club, you are dealing with day in and day out personality issues, weaknesses you can't address because of budget, injuries you can't replace… and that is just the start of the differences. How many successful national teams only managers made a successful move to a top club?
