Girona are a team used to bouncing between the top tier and the second tier of Spanish football. But this season, after 9 games, they are second in La Liga.
But who are Girona? How do they play? And do they have any recognisable players?

Xavis barca is a boring creature i would jever except this manager play this kind of football, also girona got boughtttt man
Very interesting oneā¤
The way this guy moves his hips when he talks will not stay unnoticed by Pique. On a serious note – people often leave Tsyhankiv out of the conversation, and he is the key player that brought fresh air to Gironaās game
They are currently in 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 points ahead of R. Madrid witha the best attck of La Liga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
honestly see them as strong title contenders
Is not "Michelle" is "Mee-chel".
A month later Girona is top of the league.
Masterclass
Adaptation when he think he a play stronger team. Interesting
Love watching Michel's Girona, so exciting to watch, so attacking, pretty much set up in a 3-1-5-1.
š pig's players all mafia number 1
Can you make tactic analysis olumpiakos manager Diego martinez
Hats of to Aleix Garcia. Play revolves around him and he is positonally flexible he can drop from his holding position into the first line and initiate attacks.
His change of position triggers a series of posironally changes. Aleix ( holding to CB) Blind (LCB to LAM) Herrera or Ivan Martin ( 8 to holding) – Miguel (LAM – to 10).
Reference to this rotation can be found in the game against Almeria
And Girona emphasizes these concepts :pinning opp fullbacks, diagonal runs from one half-space to the other. Pass back and long diagonal pass to opposite wing. Midfield trio positioned in a diagonal line.
this is not intended as criticism, I was really enjoying listening whilst wearing my headphones, but the levels were going so up and down it was giving me a headache and I gave up after 5 minutes. Not sure if its the presenters inclination for going up and down with the tone or something more rudimentary. The edit spoiled excellent content.
Still long way to go not even half the season I think it's all about the manager when u have a good manager no matter where r u playing in
good to see man city's b team do well.
This Girona thing is very shady. City group buys players around the world and lends them to Girona. Players that otherwise would have never step foot in a team like Girona. Aleix Garcia, Yan Couto, Savio, Yangel Herrera, and recently Echeverri, who costs 25M and next year city will have him grooming in his B team, girona, and once his ready will join the main team. I'm not denying that Michel is doing and excellent job, but definitely the team is receiving doping and I see it very unfair for other teams in la liga like Betis, Sevilla Valencia etc who has no money to afford new and good talented players, but they are bigger and have more history than City second team. If Girona makes it to the champions shouldn't be allowed to play because City would be there. There would be a conflict of interests. It's like BarƧa Atletic was never allowed to play in the same league as BarƧa. Amazing to see a team like City that was nothing like +10 years ago and has finally become a monster dominating the Premier and la Liga now. They accomplished it by not respecting the fair play rules and investing billions. Sports should be about merits and not who pays more. Football is dead.
Fantastic video!
This is exactly how I want Man Utd to be playing with a team of AWB, Schlotterbeck, Lisandro, Alfie Doughty or Raum, Mainoo, Jobe Bellingham or Eze, Mathias Jensen or Julian Brandt, T. Kubo or J. Bakayoko, Jack Clarke or Mitoma, and Hojlund or Joao Pedro. Imo ETH can do it — here noting a reservation re his multiple references to 'directness' this season — but Ineos might want to seriously (and probly will) look at De Zerbi and Postecoglu.
I feel like I watched a lecture. He is professorial. I couldn't help watching his hands though. He seemed to be either playing an invisible piano or just fidgeting. Haha. Interesting video though. Good job. š
Everyone is saying how Romeu is trash at Barca and his defensive vulnerability is keep getting exposed but knowing Michel if Barca does end up selling him back to Girona he's gonna start balling under him š
I mean Peterborough United would be doing well with Saudi funding..
Manchester United.
