  1. That new St George Cross is a GAY PRIDE FLAG…The Horizontal colours are the BISEXUAL PRIDE FLAG and the Vertical colours are the GENDER FLUID FLAG

  2. Do the flag layout and colours on the collar of the new England shirt evoke the Bi Pride flag? Yup. Is this intentional? Probably. Is that the fault of "wokeness"? Nope. This is just an example of capitalism pandering to egalitarian sentiment, the same way companies these days like to make a show of environmental awareness. Call it "woke-washing" if you like. It irritates me to death, and I'm as woke as you can get. For one, it's utterly hypocritical: Nike are not doing this because they have any politically correct sympathies, but simply to expand their market. This might have the knock-on effect of popularizing the sport amongst a new sector a little, but it ultimately just trivializes the whole issue of sexual inclusivity anyway, just as "greenwashing" has turned ecological concerns into a shallow money-spinner.

  3. He is such a mealy mouth, middle of the road, platitudes full manager who has never won anything whatsoever as a player or a manager and failed at Championship level where no one would ever appoint him.

  4. I never even knew the shirt had a St George’s cross,it hasn’t always.
The icon is the three lions and that hasn’t been tampered with.
The anger should be focused on the cost of the shirt and not a logo ,£120 odd quid is criminal ,maybe it’s a ploy to avoid that subject

  5. It's an awful, overpriced shirt, for a national team of perennial underachievers.
Yes I am English and a football fan, but watching our national team play makes me 🥱😴

  6. That’s actually a fair comment on the Cross. I’m quite happy to say it’s doesn’t represent the English cross. And then I want to know how come they’re allowed political symbols now? When in the past isn’t been a big NO

  7. 1. the england cricket team uses 3 lions
    2. the england football team represents england so therefore the england flag supersedes the 3 lions
    3. saying one is not creative and therefore you dont have an opinion on the changing of the flag is a cop out. pure cowardice that repeatedly is shown by GS whenever hes asked something pressing.
    4. GS didnt have any objection in taking the knee or wearing rainbow armbands, so why is he coy all of a sudden?
    5. the undermining of a flag is an attack on the sovereignty of England. GSs job is represent the country. If he shows this little pride in the issue then why is he taking a massive salary in the name of our nation
    6. the changing of the flag for inclusive colours is a dangerous woke message that is supported by LGBTQ and BLM style groups. They are essentially extreme left wing elements that hate western nations and undermine borders, therefore the choice of colours is poignant.

If GS can not see this or speak about it, it shows how far the FA has fallen. England fans who buy this kit will be beyond my comprehension or maybe it will be a reflection of where their sentiments truly lie.

  8. Older American here. I have a long history of purchasing school / team uniforms from major uniform manufactures. Before a manufacturer makes a set of jerseys / uniforms someone, on the purchasing side, has to sign-off on every detail of the layout / logos, etc. before the uniforms are actually produced. I don't believe that uniform manufacturers like Nike just come up with their own designs. Why isn't anyone concerned with this issue trying to track down who actually approved the layout / design change?

Ask any professional graphic designer working for a sign or clothing manufacturer, one of the cardinal rules is that you never alter any part of a team logo or governmental seal, emblem or trademarked design or insignia & that all designs are approved, by the customer, before manufacturing. Again, who approved the modifications to the cross?

  9. That Nike flag is not my flag! My flag as an Englishman is a red cross on a totally white background, this change makes me furious!

  10. The “designer” new exactly what they were doing and I look forward to seeing them in the discount bin in a year. The only decent kit is the goalkeeper which seems to be politics free
