Of all players in the last decade, there is no one that steps up to the occasion and delivers his greatest performance in the World Cup quite like Guillermo Ochoa. How did a relatively unknown keeper from the Mexico’s first division league become one of the biggest world cup performers of all time? And just how good is he really?

  1. Love him! Thanks for making the video! I've enjoyed seeing him every World Cup. Maybe his size was a factor in not going to a big 5? He seems shorter than some of the monsters playing now! lol

  2. I feel like if a bigger club would have signed him and gave him a chance he could have became a complete goalkeeper. Would have more experience in bigger leagues and been able to work on the things he didn't do like the sweeper keeper archetype. Would've been such an important keeper for a big club kinda like navas cuz already having good defenders if other teams managed to get through them they would have the reactions of ochoa most likely saving anything that came his way
Also I don't understand how underrated your channel is even with 400k subscribers you should have a mill by now at least these videos are so well done always have been

  3. Ochoa will forever be a player I will miss watching not only at the World Cup, but for my national team. Mi Mexico will forever miss him ❤️😢🇲🇽

  4. I am anti-fan of Ochoa's former and current club, but anyone with an unbiased position knows he is simply an icon of modern and overall mexican football. Despite the rivalry, always respect to him, bad luck he did not played in 2010 WC

  5. Oh man I wish you guys could've seen Ochoa play in his prime, his acrobatic saves were insane. Honestly never liked him at first because he played for America the one team everybody hates in Mexico but he won me over. I'm going to miss him when he retires. Legend.

  6. That's what you get for not being german. Mediocre keepers like Neuer get marketed as the best keeper ever while amazing keepers like Ochoa, Sommer, or Scezny never get the respect they deserve. In 2014 Neuer made 2 saves.

  7. Most of the Mexicans hate him, there are better GK than him, but he is consented. That was the failure of 2022's Mexican Squad. Many players that didn't deserve to be in the World Cup were called. Including Ochoa.

  8. I remember going crazy when Ochoa stopped a ball during an important game (I don’t remember if it was against the USA or who) by SITTING on it. Talk about a legend!

  9. I´m sorry but I am going to say it… For me Ochoa is the biggest smoke seller in the history of Mexican football, his stats in Europe are terrible and here people still consider him an icon just for a couple of matches in the world cup.

  10. since his first world cup i was certain he will end up being the number 1 at one of the biggest clubs in the world. he is an outstanding goalkeeper ability wise. it must be some sort of outside of football problem because otherwise that should have happened for sure.

  11. Im not gonna lie, the moment I saw Argentina was in a same group as Mexico, the first nightmarish thought i had was this guy being the reason Argentina wouldn't even make it pass the group stage.

And that almost happened. It took The GOAT to score and then Mexico was slightly less impenetrable. This guy is truly a legend in the World Cup for the past decade.

His spidey senses and acrobatics is one of the best. If he was born in Europe, he would 100% be a starter for some big club. Imagine if he had ball control training since young age + his natural gifted skills, he would be easily on par with Neuer, Casillas, Buffon, Cech, Van Der Sar, Cesar etc in my opinion.
