  1. Really good game, comprehensive victory. And as you guys said, the talent gap is now much wider between the US and really the most down I've seen Mexico maybe in my lifetime (I'm 37 by the way). I think the US are young and talented, but Mexico is extremely pedestrian talent-wise at this point.

In terms of the #9 situation, I've though since well before the last World Cup that the US have a bunch of attacking mids, but no slam dunk goal scorer at forward. If that's the roster you have, then move one of those attacking mids up (maybe a Weah or Pulisic), which gets them more shots on goal, since you have more than enough at attacking mid now with Gio, Weston, Weah/Pulisic, and Musah. I think I'd probably move Weah to the 9 for now, and allow the others to create for him. Still not confident that Balogun, Wright, or Pepi are as talented enough as any of those other guys

  2. Reyna has been looking great. Had a few great passes in the final third and got the goal in the end. Dest really impressed me with his play as well.

  3. If our center backs weren't such a liability with the ball, Gio wouldn't have had to go back there to fetch it. This feedback has never made it back to our youth teams because we keep selecting big galumps that can kick and head but not pass. Fix it, USSF! You're the source of the problem.

  4. Saying Richards is not good enough is such a terrible take. He is our best CB. We need to find who will be alongside him for the World Cup

  5. Decent win but Mexico is absolutely terrible right now. Probably their worst team in 20 years. I understand this is a big rivalry but beating Mexico (especially at home where it's not comparable to Azteca) is completely meaningless whether it's for a trophy or not. At this point, beating Canada is much more significant. I hope this win doesn't blind people to the many issues our team still needs to overcome, made blatantly clear when we were a last minute own-goal away from being eliminated by Jamaica's B-team.

  6. You guys GOTTA stop trying to push this narrative that GIO is some godsend player that scores hat-tricks and gets 11+ interceptions. He's a CAM that gets guys involved but that's it. He is not a full time starter at CM. He cannot defend and demands to much possession throughout matches

  7. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop any of this "if we wanna win the next world cup" talk……. Like, stop this at ONCE……. We do not have the talent to beat the entire world. Stop being weird. We have a bunch of young upcoming talented guys but please have some humility & prespective of sport

  8. These never Greggers cant be respected because like Alexi said, they want to have it both ways. This idea that when we lose its Gregs fault, but when we win its the players doing, makes no sense and is hypocrisy in its highest form

  9. imagine slandering Dest who is literally the most talented US player to ever grace a football field. Lunatics. USMNT media is literally filled with lunatics

  10. I still cannot understand why John Brooks and Tim Ream aren't playing alongside one another. Chris Richards will have his moment (and should also be considered to be the backup to an injured Dest/Antonee (the alternative backups are not up to par)), but John is the missing link in the back. Please bring him back Greg.

  11. US is currently the better team when it comes down to a match between the two, but outside of concacaf neither has bragging rights, no World Cup win or copa America. The US and Mexico are cut from the same cloth. Both sides can talk their sh*** but it’s the same story at the end of the day. Both sides celebrate how far they got in the World Cup or copa America while there are other teams celebrating how many cups they have.

  12. Seems weird to value friendship with players above having the ability to get the best out of the players. Gregg ignores what the players do best because of his ego and stubbornness. Gregg has told everyone what he values. He puts the ability to play his system above scoring goals. We should find a system that fits the player pool and not vice versa. Its a National team after all.

  13. I'm proud of this team, proud that Berhalter was able to make it work. I took one step down from my Berhalter non-believer stand… however, I'm going to need more after that Jamaica performance. Competing well against Mexico is the expectation, looking dysfunctional against a weakened Jamaica was perplexing
