Note for Woodward – this is not enough. We need to add players with real United class – at whatever the cost. Matthias De Ligt must not be allowed to cavalierly turn us down. You need to put a horses head in his bed – an offer he absolutely can't refuse.

As a winger he'll be a first choice and is perfectly suited to utd's counter attacking style. Only now at utd when he does get running, he won't find himself up on his own because Rashford for one will keep up.

Definetly a good signing.If united get good value signings like this then squad rebuild and transfer policy will take a good positive shift.Absolutely need players like De Ligt,young dynamic powerful defensive midfielder who could partner Pogba well,a fantastic RB Bissaka would be great,and a good fast and clinical centre forward who would attract and occupy center halfs and make other attackers free much better than Lukaku.
