What are your thoughts on Gregg Berhalter?
If we play like that against Mexico, we're going to get killed. I watched PAN v MEX after our game…they're coming for us.
He made the subs out of desperation. Just what he did against the Netherlands in World cup. He went with Gio, even though he told him he was not going to be used or needed or limited play. The issue is that he is praised for making the subs, but he should have started them, well Gio only and then see. He does not analyze the guys performances and make changes accordingly. Tyler should not have come in as we needed more offensive power, Tyler is great but offense is not his strength.
Would you guys publicly bash your boss? Stop with that lazy talking point.
To answer Mosey (sp?) it's actually fairly easy. Why in the almost 5 years of Berhalter leadership has the team look, stagnant, constipated, and has not had a signature win? It's that simple man… despite a great change in talent we have not advanced… at all… as a unit… and that falls on Gregg's ability to get the most out of the players. It is that simple…
Typical Berhalterball rely on individual brilliance and luck to beat weaker teams . He such a brilliant coach , he is better than pep should coach mancity soon.
No rhythm because the players are following a script (Berhalter System). GB is not the right coach to USMNT. When BJ was the coach I didn't see this problem. Give players liberty to play.
The coach of the US men's national team should not be out-coached as often as Gregg Berrhalter is. He was out-coached last night. He was out-coach versus Trinidad and Tobago. He's out-coached quite frequently. If you guys accept that without complaint then you have low standards
Stop giving Greg credit
All you need to see is how much better this team was under Hudson and Callahan than it ever has been under Berhalter.
No US coach has ever gotten less out of more than Berhalter. He can’t do this. The sooner he is gone, the sooner we can find a coach.
This team sucks. They’ll do diddly squat in Copa América and the WC.
If this usmnt will have match with uswnt I am sure uswnt will thrash them badly….watching USA vs Jamaica was nothing more than any torcher.
Alex how can insinuate Jamaica goal was given to them we gave you a goal otherwise you lost.Usa lackluster performance was because Jamaica were more disciplined more physically and strategically better .We'll meet again.
People are acting like this poor performance under Berhalter is a one off, this was virtually every Berhalter coached away game in qualifying. This is Berhalter ball. Stagnant, predictable tactics, not playing creative mids when you know teams are going to bunker and you need passers to break down a low block, instead it’s just send the wing backs up and throw crosses in the box to a non aerial threat striker in Balogun. This is poor high school level coaching, never mind USMNT level.
The USMNT's performance since Gregg Berghalter's return has been poor. His team has underperformed. It hasn't gotten better with Gregg! These types of performances will not get the USMNT out of the Copa America group stage.
The comments in favor of Berhalter show that Lindsey Horan was on to something. I had come to the same independent conclusion, but don't have to suffer the public shaming or impact for stating the obvious.
The players played exactly how Gregg wanted to play. Thats why we didn't want him back.
Lalas is a clown
In my opinion the USMNT is just not fun to watch, I’m not even sure what there is to be excited about heading into the major tournaments
#askalexi and #askmosse, on the Berhalter hiring. Is it possible that the reason Berhalter got re-hired has to do with the Equal Pay aspect of both National Teams? If we can pay a Men's coach $3-4 million, doesn't that mean the Women's coach has to earn equal money and there is now way US Soccer wants to pay the Women's coach that kind of money?
Jose mourinho is looking for a job I hear 😂😂
Why do ppl keep trying to use the excuse that they haven't played together in awhile? National teams mostly use the same international windows to get together. It's not like Jamaica had anymore time together to prepare for this match. And they had more suspension/ injury concerns then we did. The lack of accountability for the players and for Berhalter does nothing to improve this team leading up to 2026.
I'm realistic about Berhalter getting fired. It's going to take multiple bad games, and losses, before they'll dump him. Which is why my brain was rooting for the US to lose, while my heart was rooting for them to win.
The truth is that this team is simply not good enough to compete at any level. There are individual players with varying degrees of quality, but only Pulisic is recognized anywhere as a good player. Could a good coach – not even a "great" one much less a genius-level one – make a difference? Maybe. Supposedly, this is the deepest, best US team in years – not really sure about that – but the proof is on the pitch. And this team is capable only of disappointing play win or lose. I mean, look at their last six matches! This team just doesn't want to win and doesn't know how to and probably doesn't have all the tools to compete.
Berhalter’s problem is he’s exactly the same problem he had in the first cycle, his system lacks creativity and attacking prowess. Crocker said in the presser that re-introduced Berhalter that Berhalter was going to correct it. The only correction is putting Gio on the pitch and watching Gio ignore Berhalter’s system and make things happen. This team is entirely reliant on Gio Reyna, which is ironic
The U.S. need to bring in Jurgin Klopp pls he will bring light to this team and get the best out of his players pls he will be our savior 🙏🏻
I have to say it surprises me how many network soccer analysts are actually calling out Berhalter for this one. The fact that this is first time I've heard anyone even mention that non-call on the hand ball in the box pretty much drives that home. Normally the network talking heads would be leading with that while making excuses for Gerg and emphasizing that we managed to win somehow. It's encouraging to see more of them putting Gerg on the hot seat.
You guys are letting Greg of real easy it was poor form against a team that had 6 starters out. The starting lineup was wrong the starting gk is wrong. You don't want to get on the USA federations bad sign truth is the coach isn't good enough. The performances haven't been good in a long time. Mexico will destroy the USA the next game and nothing will change. The USA will wash out of the Copa America and nothing with change.
You guys are way too kind on your comments. Literally, an own goal is the only reason they are playing Mexico. Last kick of the game. Jamaica was way undermanned and we had our A team.
Another poor performance for the US under GGG.
Matt Crocker – Will losing to Mexico in the Nations League final and then not getting out of the COPA America group stage be enough for you to think, yeah let's fire GGG?
Do your job! Call it as it is, do it for this Nation and our reputation in front of the entire world.
Miles Robinson was fine??? 😂😂😂
Reyna should be taking the US corners NOT Pulisic. Pulisic cannot get the ball over the first defender.
The problems with the USMNT are repeated over and over and over. This is 6 YEARS into his tenure and I just do not see any growth. We seem to have the SAME conversations with the deficiencies with the team and how they continually look less than the sum of their parts. The slow buildup, endless passing around the back, players that seem to be overthinking their role, no creativity or spark, a lack of urgency, an inability to score. And I am still waiting after 6 year for a signature win against a power team either in Europe or South America. We are squandering a very, very good generation of players with a coach who is unable to focus and forge the team into an effective, ruthless side. At a time where the USMNT should be moving to new heights of play and following were are instead seeing stagnation and apathy.
This is a coaching issue. And a reoccurring issue with Berhalter. No, he shouldn’t have been rehired in the first place.
I can do a 10,000% better job selecting a REAL coach for the USMNT by googling “European football coaches without a job” than the current USSF “leadership.”
