Gervonta Davis SPARRING vs Frank Martin LEAKED Footage!

“Nothing Bad To Say About Him”: Mayweather Promotions CEO Praises Gervonta Davis’ Next Opponent, Blasts Old Narrative About ’Tank’s’ Matchups
Gervonta Davis is finally back. After a 14-month layoff, the American is ready to step into the square circle and defend his WBA strap against Frank Martin. But how does he fare against the challenger? Will this be another short and easy sail for the champion? Leonard Ellerbe certainly doesn’t believe so.

‘Tank’ is making a comeback after a devastating knockout of Ryan Garcia, but his troubles outside the ring put his career on hold. Meanwhile, Martin, 29, rose in ranks during that brief break and is now set to fight him for the marble. Notably, a Golden Gloves winner, Martin, comes into the fight on the heels of a hard-fought victory against Artem Harutyunyan last July. But does ‘The Ghost’ have what it takes to cause trouble and put on a competitive fight?

In a conversation with Fight Hype, Mayweather Promotions’ CEO gave his candid opinion on Martin. Ellerbe believes Martin, at 18-0, is a slick and terrific fighter. Moreover, having the esteemed coach Derrick James in his corner only adds to his allure. When asked whether Ellerbe liked the opponent he had picked to fight the WBA lightweight champion, he said, “Love it. Love it.”

Following this, the American promoter ardently defended Davis’ resume and record when asked whether this fight was an opportunity for Davis to showcase his versatility. As pointed out by the reporter, some fans have raised concerns about Davis handpicking his opponents, who are not slick. However, Ellerbe didn’t find any rationale for those doubts.

Gervonta Davis drops major hint about next fight: Could a Ryan Garcia rematch be coming?
“Tank” is eyeing his first-ever bout in this Texas city in the summer. Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been out of the ring for almost a year now. Following his dominant win over Ryan Garcia last April, boxing fans have been left wondering what Davis’ next move would be.

From Teofimo Lopez to Devin Haney to even Conor Benn, plenty of potential opponents have been floated around. Yet none have materialized and no one knows when his next fight would even come. But on Wednesday, Davis dropped several hints in an post. Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia rematch in June?
First and foremost, Davis posted a photo from his fight with Garcia. That leads many to believe a rematch could be in the works. But the timeline doesn’t really add up. Garcia fights Haney on April 20, which would give him at most a little over two months to recover and prepare for Davis. It seems too tight of a turnaround.

Whether the opponent is Garcia or not, June appears to be the set month for Davis’ next fight. And the location will be Houston, if the geolocation on Davis’ post is to be believed.

Davis has fought in Texas once before, in San Antonio in October of 2020 when he defeated Leo Santa Cruz. But he hasn’t fought in Houston yet. Garcia actually has, with his last fight, against Oscar Duarte, being held at the Toyota Center. Hearn had talked about Gervonta potentially making as much as $25 million from the PPV upside and gate. That was a rosy picture that Hearn had presented with the potential sum for Tank. It’s reasonable to assume that Tank’s earnings would have been bumped up to $15 million for the Benn fight, which likely would be more than what he’ll be getting for his fight against Frank Martin. Maybe it doesn’t matter to Tank that he could have made more money fighting Conor Benn. He’s already rich, so there’s less incentive for him to take the fights that would make him wealthier, especially if he’s worried about potentially losing. For Tank to turn down a fight that would have made him more money indicates that he may have been scared of the potential of losing to Benn, who is bigger than him and has more power than the guys he’s been facing during his career. Davis Accuses Hearn of “Cheating” Tank took a shot at promoter Eddie Hearn on social media, accusing him of shortchanging him with the money offer, saying:
