We have a really good crop of midfield and attacking players the best for years but as usual he will play it safe and pick old favourites.

England have the best individual talent. That isn't a bias statement. We have Premier League and Champions League winners throughout the group. We have a Real Madrid superstar in Jude Bellingham.
It is yet to be seen however if England has the team spirit and manager needed to win a major tournament. The best players don't always win. A top class manager can usually make all the difference between winning and falling short.

Saying the bookies favourites is deceiving. Odds change due to how much money is on a certain team. In England you will expect, just as a baseline, more bets on England. In Italy, more bets on Italy, and so on. It's a way to make sure you as a bookmaker spread the risk.
To say that France has an equivalent of England when it comes to depth is funny IMO. France has serious depth particularly in defense. Saliba is one of the best CB in the EPL and he can't get a start because Upamecano and Konate play better in France. Other than that you get Koundé, Lucas Hernandez, and Pavard who can all play in that position. Every other position too is stacked AF.

You guys are idiots. England have no chance, as soon as we get a top quality team in the knockouts like France, Portugal or Italy then we are out. On paper England looks amazing. But apart from France, if Germany and Portugal reach their potential, you are looking at some serious competition. But saying this as a Dutchman, this is the best English team I have seen so far. Much better than the 2006 squad. Yes they had the big names, but it just didnt work together. But now, you have much more variety tactically speaking.
Rice, Trent and Jude as starters to attack teams, Gallagher and Mainoo can come on and see the games through

England got ZERO Dawg in em, won’t be surprised if they get bounced in the quarters. They’ve yet to beat a side of quality. They’ll get out smarted & lose to a better technical side like they always do. Portugal should not be overlooked, it’s them & France that should be the favourites.
