  1. Havent watched the video yet so I’ll double back, but yes, I personally think he should play LB instead of LW or LM

  2. It's better to get a specialist left back in 15-30 M. Antony's useless when compared to the fee Man Utd have spent (at that price players like Kane, Osimhen etc we can get). Better to get Rid of Antony at the earliest.

  3. People laughed at me in the comments (on other videos) after I had suggested Antony at left back with all our left footed left backs out with injury. Who is laughing now? Antony always had good defensive work.

  4. No. Stop this. He's a winger.

You're all acting like last season didn't happen. You know like when he scored against Arsenal, City and Barcelona? He's having a poor season due to his SA allegations, that's it.

Furthermore, he's VITAL to the football Ten Hag wants to play, ie high press possession football. As good as Garnacho is, he can't play it yet, he's not press resistant, gets bodied off the ball, makes poor decisions, etc. He's still a counter attacking player.

Antony is the opposite, not as effective in the final third but a vital cog in a possession based team. He keeps the ball, progresses it through midfield and links up with other players. He's not individualistic, he plays WITH the team. Do people think Antony was bought for his goals? His stats were poor in the Erevedesie, did Ten Hag think that would all of a sudden improve in the PL? Of course not.

I guarantee you he's going to kill it next season, once our style of play progresses. Come back to this comment in a year.

  5. Just two weeks ago when i said this, people mocked me. He can play better as a left back than lindelof. With him, we can overlap and cross the ball. Keep the ball. Thats important. We need less defending to do if we keep opposition under pressure.

  6. Players like Haaland would be licking their lips at high balls to the back post against Antony so you would have to use him against teams with less aerial threat.

  7. You know I was right about Anthony a few months ago kept thinking he be better at the back and he’s got the speed and defensive skills

  8. as a permanent solution nah… as a player you can move around a bit and use on different positions to get more attacking possibilities.. yes. imo could use him as a striker too.. i think it might even be more to his strengths vs stronger sides cause he isnt blasting by right backs.. but in front of goal he just needs his finesse/first touch and hit the ball on goal or distribute to either winger… and put pressure… and he doesnt bog down play

  9. The solution to the Anthony dilemma is simple. SELL THE LAD!
Ten Hag and his dodgy physios have got to go too.
One game in a weird position for less than 50 minutes and all of a sudden he's Grimaldo?
What's this LB nonsense 😂😂. United fans ffs 🤦🏾‍♂️

  10. I mean he can’t seem to take anyone on at RW it’s like he’s too scared to, same thing happened to sancho went from taking 2-3 players on to getting a going backwards.

Amad, garnacho, pellestri literally get the ball and drive forward

  11. Given that we don't have a left back at the moment, might it be sensible to try Anthony on the left wing? This way dalot can move forward wan bisaka or Lindelof can stay back for cover (ten Haag doesn't seem willing to drop rashford)

  12. Left back may be the reinvention that he needs. He doesn't get injured either and could be another facet of his game to add versatility to his lacklustre attacking.

  13. Pretty much all failed wingers are wingbacks these days , but Anthony won't see himself as a failed winger, he cost a ridiculous amount of money, and the club won't effectively reduce the value of its stock more than they need to by conceding that he's a failed winger. Based on the logic shown here, there should be almost no wingers in the game (other than the absolute elite) and millions of defenders.
